wrinkling. I hate that. Sand it, then respray it. Only wait a few minutes between coats with spray bomb, and apply LIGHT coats. see if it fixes your problem. Wrinkling usually occurs when you apply a heavy coat of paint over a surface thats hard but not cured yet. I imagine if you waited too long between primer and color and you sprayed your 1st coat heavy that will happen.

This may sound dumb but was the room to cold? like a garage or something, my friend tried to paint her interior trim out side in 50 degrees, dumb. It turned out all cracked haha.

Did you spray lacquer on enamel or the other way around? Don't know if that'll make it wrinkle. I know it ***** it up.

I waited 24 hours after priming it. And it ws in my garage but it was like 63 degrees today maybe i just applied it to thick SOM is ******* hard to match too. Maybe better off having someone pro do it since i must just suck with a rattle can.

Dont have some1 else do it, its simple stuff. Dont wait 24 hours after priming. You dont really even need to prime rattle can on plastic since they make rattle can color that stick to plastic, its completely unnecessary. but since your going to be sanding the **** out of it now to fix it, id throw some primer on it just to kinda add more material down to fill in those sand scratches your gonna make. Once the primer flashes in like 3 minutes and it doesnt have a gloss to it anymore, spray your color. Dont wait 24 hours, real car primer only need 3 hours before sanding.

also use the same brand primer and same brand paint. do not mix paint brands and if your using a clear coat use the same brand clear coat as well.

Thanks for the the advice Gestapo I will try that. If it doesn't work I have to have a pro do it because I do not know anyone that could do it for me, and I just want the dash put back together. And on a side note never tried spray paint before this and I didn't even get the color even. I think it would be worth the money to just have someone do it for me it's pissin me off.

just sit it on some newspaper on a table, and just move around it as you spray it, do light coats, you can do a bunch of coats it dont matter, dont try to cover it all at one time. And you really dont need to clearcoat it. They dont make interior pieces shiney for safety reasons. and rattle can has enough gloss to it to be good for interior pieces and not too much at the same time. If you really went ***** out and did it, you can have it done in like 2 hours. Sand it with some 300 grit till its smooth and you cant feel the wrinkles any more, get some windex and wipe it clean (dont touch it anymore after this part, greasy fingers will fisheye the paint) hit it with some primer, 2 medium coats, wait 5 minutes, spray your color, when its all the color you want it, your done. Let it dry for liek a half an hour, and if you wanan install it that same day you can put the pieces in your house oven on its lowest setting for a few minutes. My oven's lowest is 170*, i put **** in there with the door closed for like 3 minutes, then crack the door open and let it sit a bit longer. I just try to keep them warm and the paint will dry pretty quickly and you should be able to handle it in no time.

lol you didnt realise the color didnt match at all when you sprayed it the 1st time? Lol. Well either just say hell with it and install it, or try to find a better matching spray paint, or bring it to a professional. But red and orange pigments are the most expensive so it may cost a little bit. nothing crazy for that little bit though

dont know if any one said this yet didnt bother reading though it but you but to much paint on at once you need to sand it down to the plastic and start over, wipe it down with rubbing alcohol after sanding and let it dry then just lightly spray it the first 2 or 3 coats will just look like over spray, same thing happend to me took for ever to figure out what i was doing wrong
