What type of tint blocks heat best
What type of tint blocks heat best
Right now I have Suntek 5% all around except windshield and it still is like a oven when I get in my car....I want to put another layer of tint that reflects as much heat as possible (35% maybe)
any opinions??

yea I was thinking about making the 2nd layer a mirror tint since they are relativley easy to see through and you wouldnt be able to see the mirror from the outside since my first layer is black
idk i think you still might get a blacked out mirror effect wich could look really good witht the car but idk it could also look horrible but if ur just worried about heat then go for it and post pics and let us know how it does
I have 5% all around on my car and a sunstrip across the windsheild and when I still get in my car its still hot as hell but honestly its not worth having it that dark, hard to see at night at times and tickets. Thats why im getting mine reduced
what type of tint do you have? if its non-metalized like mine im going to assume non metals dont reject anything but metalized ones do
13% metalized tint on mine. It does make a difference but when its 90 degrees out its still going to be hot in your car. Its a metal shell thats basically getting warmed up over time, you could paint your windows black and it still won't help you.
you should also put up the sun shade when parked in the sun; while the side a rear windows are rejecting heat, heat is still coming through the front windshield which means that it will actually keep more heat in a tinted car than a non tinted car.
That's the best way to reduce the heat in the car.

im going on monday to get another layer of 5 put on all windows except windshield
its going to be a solar guard since they said thats easiest to put as a 2nd layer and blocks most heat
btw, just some advice, dont get suntek carbon. its a nice film and all but my god, 5% looks like 20-25%

If you wan't high heat rejection( higher than most, you should go metallized. Ask you tinter for the specs on his?her film lines, then go from there... You could also do a ceramic film, they have higher heat rejection, but only come in lighter shades...
I'm at 2.5% all around, which is probably the darkest you can buy without doubling layers, that I have ever seen, and it claims to block 65% of heat. Still hot as a ******* oven when I get in my car.
Meh.
