There is nothing left but you can still see where the letters were. Not sure if its visible in this picture but it is during the day.

Either there's residual adhesive or you used adhesive remover that's damaged the paint. Could also be that the area covered by the letters was protected from the sun, keeping its color while the rest of the pint faded.

I'm guessing the paint faded option, any fix for that?

If it's clearly defined (which it looks like it is), fading would be my guess, red cars fade the worst. Take it to a detailer and ask them, they can probably do a paint correction/restoration that will make the two shades match, but it'll be pricey.

Eh, I need to do some touch up paint to my bumper so when I do that I'll just sand that spot and repaint it myself.

YIKES! Unless you're a pro, it's going to look worse. I would only do that as an absolute last resort. Read up on some of the detailing theads on here, a GOOD wax, maybe a claybar, would be a great place to start, see if just cleaning up the surface that was debadged and surrounding area will make it blend together better.

that might not even help depending on the extent of the car. mileage, aftermarket paint(if its been painted) and so forth.

reds fade pattern is pretty shitty compared to most others and if its real bad then good luck. even after a polish you will still see it. doesnt hurt to try though at all.

whoever said use touch up paint...dont even bother. you need someone with a wool pad, a good compound and some polishing compound and foam pads to do the trick.

It's honestly hard for us to say since we can't see it in person. It's either residue left over, or faded. Can't say for sure though....
