Wiring Coolant Temp / Oil Pressure Gauge..??
Hey guys..
So, I'm redoing my gauges in my pillar with a set of 3 Auto Meter white faces in place of my Sunpro black faces now that I blacked out my pillars.. I'm getting a narrowband afr, a voltmeter, and either an oil pressure or a coolant temp gauge.. A local guy from CL is selling a bunch of them.. A coolant temp gauges seems to be easier than an oil pressure one to wire up, but it seems dumb since there's technically a temp readout in the DIC (that I don't use).. But an actual gauge would be more convenient.. And yes, I know the narrowband won't do ****.. lol.. I have already seen the how-to's on here for wiring a narrowband afr and a voltmeter, but never for a coolant temp or an oil pressure gauge.. Anyone have any clue how to..?
The coolant temp seems like you simply put the probe into somewhere where the coolant is circulating through.. But what/where is the best place to do that? And how do you do it safely..??
The oil pressure at least seemed like a big pain in the ass from the one how-to that I saw.. Anyone able to validate this..? lol.
Any information that I can get ASAP would be cool because i'm going to go get these in a few days, so I'll need to know which one to get, oil or coolant..
Thanks..!!

The oil presure gauge goes to the drivers side of the valve cover. Right on the side you'll see a plug that you cAn remove with a hex key
You have a 2.4 like me but the coolen temp gauge would go on the back corner by the exhaust manifold on the drivers side. I've never been able to put it there so you can install it at the upper coolent hose on the passenger side. You have to get and adapter tho. Summit has them.
I would say get the oil pressure gauge. It's easier. Also get an electrical one too

oil pressure is going to be more useful, although, looking at the gauges that you've picked, i'm guessing that you just want stuff that'll move around while you drive. in which case, again, go with the oil pressure.

Yeah, I'm n/a, so no gauges will really help me too much. lol. I'm just tired of having blanks..
So, just remove the plug with the hex key thing and stick in whatever you need? I don't know what the connection looks like for the oil pressure gauge. Will I have to buy it separate? And is it universal or specific for the car / type of gauge? Also, a more accurate description of where this going into would be awesome (so I don't start randomly opening ****..lol).. Thanks!!!!!

That little black twistie looking cap on the "top" of that grey/black box to the immediate right of the valve cover..??
And for the sender, what do you do with this? I don't think it's included, so I'll need to get one..

The plug is on the the bottom right side where the engine and valve cover touch. There's about 3 other plugs that look the same. The lnk you posted is the sender that gets attached to the plug. If your doing electrical sender

my Q is: is te plug for the oil pressure high enough that you can pull it without draining the oil>???? or wil oil come gushing out when you pop it off kind of like the oil drain plug
i have the oil pressure gauge from prosport and i cant find a conector to fit in my head any one know what siize it is and also i have a narrow band and dont know what wire to conect to dose anyone know the thread that shows a how to i cant find one just need to know the wire colors and wat they go to and as far as oil pressure you need a difrent male female connector for your sender to your head b/c the threads dont line up but i dont know what size it is?
