I hope it works out, but I'm curious to see if you'll even be able to turn lock to lock without hitting the fender liner. And in both our sigs you can see how close the stock tires are to the fender. I don't know man.
The amount you paid for your wheels doesn't have anything to do with this thread. Thanks for getting over your wheels.

and until this thread... there were no wheels 9" wide that will fit the cobalt (unless you get custom wheels costing $$$)

The issue is no one knows what offset to make with a 17x9. I've had this car for 2 years waiting for someone to step up and do this and no one has.
It's KILLING me to walk in my living room right now! I'm so damn anxious and nervous.

well I couldn't wait any longer! Got them mounted this morning, and just got back from a test ride!
Got them home and started to jack up the car when my hardcore bar arrived, installed that. Mounted the wheels and tires then had my girlfriend turn the wheels lock to lock with no rub, ANYWHERE. The inside of the wheel was very close to the the strut (like maybe 1/4-3/8ths")
Off for a test ride and I hear a little tick, almost like a rock just stuck in the tire but more of a metal sound so, I stop to check it out. The inside of the wheel is so close to the wheel it was hitting the wheel weight. Long story short no heavy testing yet .7 on the g-meter both directions and a couple good bumps and dips and no rubbing yet. I'm sure it's not over but, looks great so far.

The body seam in the back of the wheel well is maybe 1/2" away (last pic) after you peel away the sealer they have on it. Maybe a little tap there to be on the safe side.

Haha good catch on the tires being backwards. Guess I was in a little bit of a hurry.

I'm on pedders, manufacturer says 20.8 lbs but my bathroom scale said just under 20 (may or may not be accurate)
I'm on my second day of driving to work with the new set up hitting some pretty good dips and .93 on the rpd on a cambered off ramp still no rub.....yet.

my pressures on the street are generally whatever I last ran at an autocross or track day, lol. I haven't touched the pressures in these yet so whatever the tire guys put in them they feel high prolly 40 psi? Lots of people say the Kooks like more pressure I guess I'll start at 45 at the autocross school/test-n-tune I've got coming up on the 19th and come down from there until I find the sweet spot. That's the beauty of new tires you can see how the sidewalls are rolling without pretty easy. These things seem damn sticky so far!
