They're not for looks. Plus, I think they look mean as hell! I like'em.

I've been looking at my GPS mount for my phone and there is a hole in the back where the camera lense is. I think if I can get it set up right I can record on the phone and push it some more and see how far the suspension compresses and how much camber the front gains during cornering. If I don't scatter pieces of the phone across the road.

The wheels don't seem to stick out much farther than this guys...

qwik is running a 235 I think, which makes it look a little better, but it kind of defeats the point of running a 9'' wide wheel.

A 9.5" wheels at +35 sticks out exactly 1mm further than a 9" wheel at +30. So, nearly exactly the same amount. Once I get my allignment I'll be adding .7* so, if my math is correct that will bring the tire in another 10mm or so. If I gain any camber at all during compression that will tuck the tire behind the lip.

Would you have issues with the rears if you had weight ie passengers in the back? I've got a sedan and I will have passengers. I to am on Pedders.

I guess I had my facts wrong. 9.5'' wide with a 245/40/18.

I'm sure with heavy dips in the road and a couple adults in the back you would probably rub a little. I haven't looked at the back to close yet but I'm pretty sure you could get away with a +40 offset but if you did that up front you would be pretty camber limited.

I mounted my phone to the outside of the car today useing my GPS mount and took a little ride where there is a really good dip in the road and at about 55mph hit it. Still didn't contact the fender but it was damn close. The wheel seems to gain no camber at all during compression. Anyone know if this would chage at all with more caster with our mcstrut setup? Camber plates are in my future. I know the grand-am cobalts use ground control camber plates but, I don't know weather they use the 4 bolt vw ones like on the time attack cobalt or something else?

Over all it's been really fun developing this car

man, im still waiting for my wheels to get here. lol. i ordered them in late december. if anyone wants team dynamics wheels, prepare to wait. they have to be custom made most of the time and its a 12-14 week wait. worth it i hope. i cant wait. i got 18X8 +35mm. nothing crazy.

qwikredlines car 245/40/18 and no they dont stick out as much. redline can take a wider rim and tire and be a lot more forgiving then the cobalt.

Happy to hear the phone survived! Are you currently running 2 degrees negative in the front or do you still have to do that? The car looks like it's going to be fun.

Nope only at 1.3* When I installed the pedders I opened the lower strut holes then took it in to a non-performance tire place for an alignment, tell them 2* and 0 toe. Little bit goes by and they pull it off the rack and bring me a print out of the specs they got. I started off with nearly 3* when it went in and they ended up with 1.3* one side 1.6* on the other and said "that's all I can get out of it" although the paper in my hand showed nearly 3* to start. I was thrilled, lol. So, now I have to drive to a friends shop to get it done to get it right.

im wondering if 17x9 with +20 would rub on a 215 or 225 tire, or 18x8.5 +31

I run -1.6 camber and 0 toe...I had to go to a race shop to get that setup.
