I'm interested in getting tires, I will probably just run my old stock ss/NA 17" wheels. I've heard to get R888 tires, but I don't know too much. I'm new to the sport
You prolly dont want R888 for autox, there more of a road track tire and like alot of heat, if you want to stick with a good street tire look into the star spec Z2, bfg rival, or hankook R-s3 all three are great autox tires and heat up quick and hold their heat, I have the R-s3 an love em

Ok I'll probably still with the spare set if wheel that I have now. They are the SS/NA 17" wheels 5x110 what tires should I wrap them with? I don't know how wide the wheel is

Go with what works and is available. None of the SMF cars down here are running crazy wide or tall tires. Remember, the base cars came with 15 or 16" wheels stock. Down the road, Id love to get wider wheels and go to a 245.
But hey, those 225's work, and its only $700 for a set of four. When you need two sets a season.....
Also, if sticking to a street tire for AutoX, I highly recommend the Hankook RS3

My car came stock with 205/45/16 tires on it. so a 225/45/15 isnt much different, lol. Its not an SS. hahaha
And Omiotek, The Hankook's Im on are giving the guys on A6's a run for the money. Im impressed

I'm running Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 17x9 wheels with 255/40/17's BFGoodrich g-Force Rivals on my SS Turbo (exact same height as stock combo) in STX class. The Rival and Dunlop Z2 are considered the hottest street tires for autocross, but you aren't giving up much going with the Hankook RS-3's mentioned by several on here. You can definitely overheat the RS3's on very hot days though and they will start smearing.

That's not what I have experienced. On track maybe, but for autocross they like heat. RS3's are the best street tire for autocross, in my opinion. They are also the cheapest, at least in 255.
^^^I have to agre but I haven't had the z2s yet to the track. rs3s will heat up quick on the track BUT for time attack your going to set your best lap within the first half of the session usually so by then your good to go as far as heat goes. a a6 for time attack Is awesome. r6 for wheel2wheel but I run the rs3s because they were on par in everything but the cold with the z1s and they were 150 bucks cheaper in a 245/40/18
