Yeah, but these cars are so nose heavy, a lighter battery is nice, but it just adds to the nose heaviness, lol.
Driver needs to lose weight here too.
I found that going from OEM Steel hood to Extreme dimensions fiberglass / carbon hood was 35lbs. savings. We are currently thinking of making a CF hood skin to have just a 3-4 lb hood total.
I would assume you can take 15-20 with a fiberglass/cf trunk.
My splitter is not that heavy. It mounts in the subframe with Nutzerts, and has 9 dzus fasteners on the valence. Its Diabond (valence) and alumalite (Splitter) and some urathane edging. under 20 lbs for all. Runs to the axles. Wanted to go carbon, but it gets beat up too much. Maybe once the 2.0 aero kit with the wing goes on........
What seats do you run? I put a SABELT Carbon halo seat in and it weighed 8lbs less than the Sparco standard seat I had in there.

i only have 1 seat its an aluminum kirkey seat. I didn't realize 35lbs from a aftermarket carbon hood, that's way better than i thought. i was also thinking of making my own super light hood, stuck or rear suspension redesign to run front wheel bearings in the rear currently taking much time. i have some restrictions on the lip and splitter, also with its ride height and now with the new rear suspension i should be able to lower the cat more, so need to set up the suspension then figure out what type of splitter

That reminds me when I used to work at Trek bicycles in Europe, I always wondered why people that were easily 15-20 pounds overweight would spend thousands of dollars on an OCLV carbon frame to shave a few pounds off their bike weight...
I'd be like why don't they ride their steel bikes harder, save the money and improve their health at the same time? lol

Those are APR Carbon mirrors on aluminum mounting plates we designed. sold a few sets. Ryan Derrick has a pair too XD.
The valence (vertical part) is Diabond. The splitter and the barge boards on the sides are Alumalite. And mine is chassis mounted. runs back to the axle center line (farthest i can go per GTA Rules)

Thanks! Anyone on here track theirs with a 6258 or 6758? Thinking about doing that upgrade for next year and was wondering if I might need a brake upgrade once I'm done.
The brakes seem adequate for what I have now, but not sure if they will be sufficient once I get an upgraded turbo.

Adrian does-6758. For some reason I was thinking you got rid of your car.
It's awesome that you made up ground on some of those corners especially compared to an independent suspension vette.
I know Adrian has had some cooling issues with his on his 6758 due to being in boost so much. He detunes it for the track. I'm sure he would recommend the 6258 as he and I have talked about it. Can spool like crazy at lower rpm and still give you 400whp.

Yeah, I was thinking 6258 just to help it off the corners a little better (assuming it doesn't spin too much).
I'm thinking with another 75-100HP, I won't only be catching the Corvettes in the corners!

As Ray stated, if I had to do it over, I would probably go with the 6258 instead of the 6758. I dial it down to 20psi (from 26, remember we're a mile high here) and still have lots of wheel spin coming out of the slower corners.
That said, I have to admit it is a blast to watch the face of GT3RS drivers when they have trouble catching me on the straight lol
Brakes however are fine. I run stock rotors with Hawk DTC70 pads on all 4 corners, stainless lines and a good brake fluid (I use Prospeed rs683). The Brembos do great, no need for upgrades there.
Think about hood vents and a turbo blanket when you upgrade. Those seem to have made a big difference in my coolant temperatures although I haven't taken that new setup back to the road track just yet.
As for traction in 2nd gear, I can't wait to try these R7 scrubs next time I go out there

Cool Adrian, thanks for the information. Hopefully I'll be able to get it this winter. I see ZZP is currently out of stock on the 62 and 67.
So far I'm very happy with my brakes performance as well. I run Carbotech XP12 pads on the front. Wished they lasted longer, but they perform very well. I run Motul 600 fluid and have stainless lines as well on the front. So far not wanting for more brakes, but wasn't sure how much more they could handle. Sounds like I'm fine on that front.
Those tires look sweet! Unfortunately I have to drive to my events, so not sure slicks would be ideal. Does anyone make a hitch for the Cobalt? Maybe I could get one of those trailers to tow behind it. I'd also want to upgrade to the Powell trapdoor thing before running those. I haven't had any problem with starvation yet, but I fear with slicks I would prolly be in trouble.
Intrested to hear your opinion on the slicks.

Can you run A/R7's without doing anything to the oiling system, or is the motor definitely going to die from oil starvation?

Went to Road Atlanta for the first time this weekend.
I didn't get any recordings the second day. I think this is from the 2nd session of the first day and was the best lap of the ones I had recorded the first day
Full session

Took my new to me daily out to a winter event last weekend, rather than my Miata. It was a blast, but the brakes could really use some work. Ordered the Power Stop Z23 pads and some ATE Type 200 fluid, and we'll give it another try next month.

Funny you mention bulletproof trans! I messed up 2nd gear in mine at Road Atlanta Going to have Paretto rebuild it this spring. No 6258 for me this year

I've been hitting up the SCCA Track Nights recently. Here's one I did a few weeks ago at Pocono. My OBD II adapter wasn't talking to my phone properly, so the only gauges working are the g-force and GPS speed.
