Cobalt STX Build

Cobalt STX Build
After cording a new pair of Hoosier A6s in 12 runs at nationals last year I have decided to make the move to STX. One of the more complete classes in autocross, not IT car anymore now that the 89 civic si is gone.
2011 weight
2874 autocross weight. so everything out of the trunk without driver.
885LF 911RF
565LR 511RR
with 1/3 a tank of gas.
2012 Mod List
-KW V2 Coilovers
-Stiffer Swift Springs
-powell XXX Rear Sway Bar
-17x9 Team Dynamics PRO RACE 1.2
-255-40-17 Hankook rs3
-Hawk HP+ pads all around
2013 Mod List
-Flywheel
-Clutch
-Turbo Back(help lose some punds)
-Corbeu Seats(maybe)
No plan for a tune yet cause I want to get the suspension setup first, also the lack of a good STX tune as of yet.
I will keep things posted as parts change and come in!

The OTTP rear bar seams a bit over priced for what it is. For less than $100 more you could make a speedway style bar to install.
Take a look at Andy Hollis's fb page he setup for is ST Civic at "Hollis Racing" for how he did the speedway rear bar on his Civic.
I also believe that's going to be the style rear bar you are going to see in Stock now that you can do front or rear.

What car are you going to run in FSP? My brother and I ran my Cobalt SS/TV in DS this year and are going back to FSP with a 1st gen Neon ACR. We both really like DS but the tire bill was a bit ridiculous and now that you can do front or rear sway bar allowance I think the WRXs are going to kill the class.

car look's sweet.. but engine wise.. you keep it stock?
Wouldn't that STI have an upper hand on you power wise?
Sorry i'm a noob about this just asking questions and being a curious little beaver

LOL you and Frankenstook. He runs in my region, pretty fun to watch.
Interesing read on Hollis' speedway bar set-up but, I'm still not totally grasping how they work? fb link >> Hollis Racing - Wall | Facebook

Civics and Cobalts have different rear suspensions. You can't take what they do and apply it directly to a Balt. The style bars we use now are basically all we can use without extensive Fab work. Even using a modular speedway style bar would require significant time and effort to get dialed.

In another thread is a pic of an example on an Achieva SCX. Unfortunately I think this style will become as it is ultra tuneable.
