Detroit SCCA opener.

Just got back from the Detroit SCCA opener. Me and my co-driver chaired the event. My first time doing so. Damn was it a busy day. #1 tip for chairing an event. Make sure you get someone else to design and setup the course.

The Cobalt was awesome! I got first in DS out of 5 cars in class. My co-driver/The car owner got a pretty close second. I even held the top spot on the pax up till the last runs. Ended in 7th out of 110+ cars.

First time on Hoosiers and so far idk if they are worth the extra cost. Although the extra cost between Kumho and Hossier in our sizes isn't much.

We got some pretty nice trophies this year too.

thats cool dude. Nice to see!! Lucky you have some DS competition out there. I see you are registered for Toledo, Ill see you there :)

For sure. I love the Toledo site. Unfortunately it may be only me. My co-driver might not make Toledo. Depending on how the class fills out. I may have to find a co-driver to make it so we have contingencies.

You should try to make the Oscoda Pro. We usually stay at a friends cabin on the lake across the street from the site. Oscoda Rocks!

I havnt done a pro yet lol. They look fun. With the budget I am on this season im only doing 4 larger events. Our Cendiv Divisional, Toledo, Nationals and the national street tire challenge.

^^^You didn't know? That's where the indy cars race. You didn't notice the striped lines on the corners?

The Indy car track on belle isle used public roads. You can drive the course. Speed limit is only 25 mph around the park though.

We actually had the police called on our event before. A vw club decided race around the island. The scca stuff is sanctioned and legal. We use the grand prix paddock site.
