Koni Challenge cars
 

SOme old some new tidbits about the GrandAm Koni cars, Did you know:


They are required to run full STOCK exhaust, only the cat is removed.

They are now limited to 13psi boost

They are now running 2010 Camaro V6 front brake calipers and brackets(they wanna run the Brembos)

They run 100% stock and complete turbo, piping, airbox, intercooler.

They DONT have no lift shift.

They DONT have traction control.

The ONLY engine performance mods they do are an aftermarket radiator and a/c delete.

ok.. and the point of this is???

:confused: I dont know, road racing section, Cobalts road race, thought somebody may be interested in knowing a little bit about what the "big boys" are running these days.

the point is they still blow the doors off of modified hondas and bmw's hondas are allowed to bore the motors out cams pretty much a built motor.

And its just interesting to know............

very interesting that they limit them like that.

Also, for this season the Cobalts had to add 200lbs of weight; 2725lb compared to previous S/C cars @ 2525lbs. For 09' lightweight doors may not be allowed.
