Never been there but I have been to Willow Spring's and Button Willow. Both very cool track's. Hope to go to Laguna some day.

Omnigear 12-10-2008 03:30 PM

im close to willow springs but havnt got a chance to go.
i will prolly need tires after running the fastest track on the west.
where is button willow?

Check with your local Vette, BMW, Lotus or Audi clubs...these club are the best way to get your car on some of the best tracks. You dont have to own one of those cars stated about to join on the those clubs.

Yea man that track is fast as hell I got my GTO uo to 147mph on the main straight. One thing your really need for that track is a really good brake set up. Button Willow is in Bakersfield. I like that track alot better because its a more technical course. Check out ButtonWillow.com

i need to get brake upgrades then
i still have the stock setup, prolly some r1 d&s rotors and ceramic pads
after i get the engine tuned up.

Most track days with the auto clubs usually cost $250 - $500 a day depending on the track and the group you go with. I know some of the Vette clubs run track days without to many rules (its gets a bit wild Ive heard) as where the BMW clubs help run a safe, pass only in certain straights a ways type of event and they provide a race instructor to ride along with you.

Why you need good brakes for track days...

Video from BMW Club run event here in MN... You see even though they are being held up by a slow ass Mustang driver they still wait to a straight to pass. Also, when you go off the road (ass you see in the video) you to drive back into the pits and have your car re-inspected before you can return to the track. Little things like this are what keep everyone as safe as possible.

Laguna is a bad ass track, ive been there for the moto gp races a few times now. People use to sneak bicycles onto the quarkscrew at night and ride it down. Looked like fun! ;)

Omnigear 12-12-2008 10:43 AM

ill take my skateboard and try the corckscrew ^_^

i didnt know that shit can get costly
i was thinking like 100 bucks or something for open runs

euthanasia 12-12-2008 07:28 PM

Omni I'll let you know next time we go. You can drive up and hang out for the day if you dont want to run.

Omnigear 12-12-2008 11:47 PM
