road racing with a HPT

Ok I want to go to Gingerman raceway is a few weeks for a test and tune. it is form 5-830pm at night so I only thing I will get a few laps in. ok my mods are in my sig and I want to know if is this safe I am on full e85. I have been doing a lot of auto X and have really improved in my driving. But my HP keeps going up so I think its time for a bigger track.

this is the track Events | Gingerman Raceway, Ltd.

I just want to know if I am on full E85 if I would be safe......lastly I am not pushing the **** out of this tune I am on the stock clutch so I am sure I could see another 5-10% if I puched it

thanks

Don't even think about it unless you can log knock. Running on a road course is nothing like making a pass down the drag strip. You're sitting over 4k most of the time, and much of it is full throttle. You have to run waaaay less timing and boost, unless you just don't care about your car.

The first few times I tried a tune on track with 93, on a very conservative street tune, it knocked after 1/2 a lap. After tweaking the tune and dropping in 3 gallons of 100 octane, it's perfect now. This is a very conservative setup though. E85 will afford you additional cooling and timing, but it's not magic. You'll also be more likely to run out of fuel up top, and not the nice way.

If ZZP wants to guarantee it, from labor to parts, do it. If not, ask yourself if you can pay for a new motor.

Your stock clutch will commit suicide and you will need new break pads. Also be sure to watch your knock. Pull a LOT of timing as said before.

I would do a lot more logging before going. Make sure everything's kosher. Like Wangspeed said, make sure you're logging constantly. Knock and fuel both. Either one gets off, could spell doom for your motor.

GMS1 is fine I track. It's what I ran at first. I'd probably still be running it, if it weren't for the fact that the crappy MPx catted downpipe throws a code. Only Hahn's does not.

Your pads might not hold up to well so take it easy on them.

Can't you just take the GSM1 and tweak it through HPT to not care about that code? Excuse my stupid question as I am trying to learn more about the HPT suite.

Sure, you can do that, but after looking at things, I wanted to increase HP a little, and actually increase safety in some RPM ranges.
