So I got some weight saving parts...

Car has been down due to the oil cooler needing a new adapter plus I haven't had much time to spend on it. Since the snow started flying here yesterday, I guess it will be a winter project
I will have an update soon on the brake ducts - yes, that is plural

Steel vented hood
Time for an update on these parts. (to be clear, the above picture shows my current OEM hood with the vents installed, not the CF one)
Luci is at the body shop this week to have the CF hood installed. Remember the hood doesn't have any mounting points so they are properly attaching an extra set of hinges I purchased, along with some quality hood pins. They will also be installing the hood vents as I decided I am not really comfortable cutting into a piece as precious as this one myself!
I'll post pictures here when she comes back home. Just the labor on this hood will cost more than any after market so-called "carbon fiber" hood lol but i know it will be worth it in the end.
I plan on messing with the splitter, front lip and brake ducts myself for a bit first and see what can be done. For the CF trunk I'll bring it back to the same body shop later this year.
I may be open to selling the hood in the picture at some point as well as my Duraflex Tjin trunk (with or without some awesome taillights) but I'll announce that in due time.
I'm excited to finally get this project going. The weather is warming up (70s this week!) so the itch to get back to the track is real! Stay tuned...

Bring your LNF wheels if you do and then I can help fund your trip and the hood

Took a little longer than expected but I got the car back yesterday. The shop did an awesome job. They cut the pieces where the hinges attach from an old hood (not mine!) and inserted them inside the pockets of the CF hood. Looks completely stock and works very well. Fitment is amazing, it is truly like stock. I don't think that can be said for many (if any) after market carbon hoods. We ended up welding on the hood pins which means that I won't be able to mount my stock hoods (I have 2) anymore, but that's OK. Vents were painted mat back which looks really good. I put small patches of clear bra around the hood pins so they won't get damaged by the locking pins sliding in and out.
Overall, I'm really happy with the end result. I'll bring the car in again soon to have the trunk mounted, and maybe the splitter and brake ducts as well. On to the pictures! Sorry for the dirt under the hood, haven't had time to clean it since it snowed again this morning
Hood pins welded into the frame, reusing the OEM bump stops.
Hinges were attached to plates inserted into the carbon cavity; really nice solution.
This picture shows the hole for the hood pin - metal plates on both sides). I may decide to remove the rain guards on the inside of the vents for better air flow.

Since my new carbon hood is so flimsy, there are gaps everywhere allowing air to go where it’s not supposed to. I recorded the hood movement at 140mph with my GoPro and the movement was frightening. So I did a redneck thing and zip tied a half a pool noodle (yes, you read that correctly) on top of my grille. I still have to address the gap at the back of the hood but for now this should do the trick.
I also removed the rain guards of the hood vents for better air flow and replaced them with aluminum braces. I had these installed during my lapping day a few weeks ago and they held up great.
PS: I never knew they sold black pool noodles

Hey what happened with the front splitter!?
i would pay to get a mold of that beauty! Did you install it?
i wish some one made parts like these for our cars. I'd be willing to shell out the cash
