Team Dynamics ProRace 1.2 for stx
Running STX in my SS/TC this year and I'm about to order wheels and tires. I'm looking to go 17x9s with 255s but I'm unsure of offset. I saw there was quite a bit of 'poke' in the rear with +35 so I was thinking +40 with a 5mm front spacer. Would they clear the brembos without the spacer? Ill be running the federal rsr959 in 255/40r17 at first because of the cost benefit and going ***** out on tires next year. I will probably be running YYZs and koni yellows by late in the season but first priorities are tires and a sway bar.
Help is much appreciated. And if anyone knows a vendor I could contact about this I would appreciate that too.

I really need to be able to rotate the tires front to rear to get more life out of them. Fronts will wear much faster in a fwd car. I thought I saw someone running +35 but I could be mistaken. Then maybe I would run +35s with a 5 mm front spacer. No rotate, no deal.

I have some pictures floating around. The purpose of buying these wheels, at least for me, is to take advantage of them being able to machine whatever offset you want so you don't need to use spacers.
meh. just run the stock wheels, unless there's an autocross coming up. It's also possible to buy only two tires at a time.

Hi Ron,
*
Nice to talk to you this afternoon. Thanks for calling.
*
Just to confirm, I think your approach is very practical and should work just fine. Go with the longer studs though. You can always cut them down. 255 tire should be fine on 9” rims as should a 225.
*
Specs on these will be:
*
Wheel model:* Pro Race 1.2
Size:* 17x9
Offset:* +45
Color:* TBD
Hub Centric Bore:* 65.1
Bolt Circle:* 5x110
Lug Style: conical (OE I think)
*
Price is $238 each plus shipping from California. I should have asked for your zip code when you called. Oops.
*
Delivery in about 8-12 weeks.
*
We have sold 7 sets of these to six Cobalt SS owners. Most have gone 30/45 but a few have bought+30 all round. Don’t know what tires they are running however.
*
Let me know if you need any more information before ordering.

^^ straight from the man himself. He said they run spacers on the rear of their 911 race cars for this very reason. OUTSTANDING cust service by the way.
Next question - extended studs - ive heard the arp are too short, but the gmpp ones are expensive. Gotta pay to play, I know - but I'm trying to be as frugal as possible.

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels in 17x9 +30
I think I found the wheels I'm gonna get. So what would make the front and back offset have similar "poke"? They clear the Brembos fine?

+45 rear is what keeps the rear tire within the confines of the rear fender.
I plan to run +45 all around with a 15mm spacer up front on gmpp extended studs. This will allow you to rotate the tires for longevity. You can do +45 rear amd +30 front, but without the ability to rotate expect to replace a lot of front tires. Since I want even wear on all 4 corners I need to be able to rotate. As the TD guy stated - they run 20mm spacers on their Porsche 911 race cars for that reason.
+30 all around is do-able but it could lead to fender/tire interferance in extreme circumstance. On a lowered car the +45 will be a must, but inner fender/ tore clearance may be an issue. I plan on running YYZ v1s or maybe v2s. I'll have to load the car down on stock springs and see what happens.
Also, I'm grivlet from jalopnik! Nice to see ya again!

Seems like me and you take every opportunity to bring up the TC on Jalopnik. People need to know how great these cars are.

I'm with cluelessk - when googling all I found was Jboogies setup, and +30 all around is not what I want for clearance reasons and staggered wheels are impractical for what is nearly a dedicated race car.

While the wheels are 21lbs/each in a 17x9, they are STOUT!
Wheels are the spec wheel for the British Touring Car Championship and have been for several years (in centerlock configuration).
Ive been in touch with the guys at team illuminata - they may be willing to do a group buy. I can ask. There is an 8-12 week lead time simce they are custom drilled in the UK.
Wheels were 238/ea in 17x9
