No I have a bone stock Gen 3 LDK short block. The Gen 3 block fixed the failures of the Gen 1 and 2 blocks with the support on the upper sleeves. No one has broken it yet. Girdled is cool if you got money to flush down the toilet and like to say you have one.

Ya I wouldn't push more boost than you are on a K04. Otherwise you're just causing unessisary heat which wrecks motors. But on the other hand to get the kind of numbers you hope you're at takes about 30psi on pump gas

My theory too. I think ZZP puts a 500hp rating on the gen3 block just to sell their girdled block for $1000 more

Well they put a 500whp rating on the whole stock short block assembly. Not just the block. Take a Gen 3 block and add aftermarket pistons and rods. The sky is the limit. That block isn't busting up top like the Gen 1 and 2's can under high boost.

Scythesnake came into a thread after i posted that i think the girdled block is a money grab and said the gen3 isn't good for 600hp ask him how he knows. I have a gen3 block and am gonna hit 600

ZZP made 898 on a girdled block if that's what you're thinking of.

I don't believe it. I know he trashed his motor but I don't think it was due to the block looking at the pics. It looked like a rod snapped. Which I could see ZZP's made in China Rods doing. They are still a good rod don't get me wrong. But they aren't the best.

I never knew there were pics. I know Cmiller had a pretty big build on a gen3 block. I have Molnar rods I talked to him for a bit seemed like a really cool guy

He posted just one on his instagram. The piston was destroyed and 1/4 of the rod was attached to to it.

Ya I've purchased some stuff from Cmiller over the years. Really good guy.

Depending whether they were stretched to form or molded in a molding will make a huge difference.

Chinese pipe doesn't go through nearly the qa/qc as pipe here, I imagine the rods are likely the same.
