Snapped driveshaft @ the track

Canada Snapped driveshaft @ the track

@ Toronto Motorsports today, Ran a 99 FireHawk which had cams and exhaust, Beat him both times, my runs werent the best.. best being 13.72 @ 104.5.. third run I snapped the driveshaft coming off the line...

Time for upgrade?

Broke mine a few weeks back, know the feeling! INTENSE has upgraded ones rated for 450whp! I haven't had any problems since going to these and you see my times

Would you please provide us some details? Did it break right off the line or during a shift? What rpm were you launching at? Were you on stock rubber, DRs or slicks?

I was on the line, 3K rpm, DR's, and a prepped track == 0movement when the clutch was released.

Broke where the shaft necks down to go into the CV joint.

Yikes that sucks! Closest track to me is over 2 hours away, I would hate to pay that towing fee. You mentioned something about Intense having new beefier axles, I tried looking on their site but could not find them. How are they? Any idea when they will be available to the general public?

It happened when i shifted from first to second... the shaft separated from the outer cv joint..

yeah, i was just speaking with Scott @ intense racing and he said that they have upgraded drive shafts available next week, both are rated for over 400whp.. $799.00 US though..
