im a graphics guy, even painted lotsa stuff, but not a painter by trade. have all the right tools/materials tho. the pic does no justice, im pumped!
the new CF hood was very uneven and imperfect, i blocked it for 5 hours today, with paint, im into it for 8 hours now. and i had to move and re-slot both car hinges, and adjust both fenders, to make it nice fit on the car. shhh, i painted it after hours in the back of my shop.

i used a 4x8 inch fibreglass flat thingy, a block if you will. to sand it down to take out all the highspots, and level the lowspots. it had tons of pinholes and texture to it, when you got real close. i just didnt want the total street racer look, i wanted subtle, with the functionality of underhood heat removal, and still show it a s a CF hood; just subtle.
and the side bodyline accent was a lil artsy, i guess. my graphic on the car is tapered as well, it should look good on the car.

wicked, ive had murals on several vehicles. sometimes it affects resell tho...
i had to paint over my muraled tailgate on my 2000 Z71, or they wouldn't take it on tade for my SSS.
and the other side of the coin, i took my muraled cowl hood off that truck, and put the stock one back on.
of coarse the dealer bitched, they assumed i was leaving the cowl hood, and repainting that too. Mind you, when they made the deal, they told me the aftermarket parts don't increase the value, so your going to have to make it stock.
