New bike look
Well my fairings for my bike have apparently arrived in Canada. They were shipped last week from Hong Kong. Changing the whole look of my bike from blue to black/red. I got alot of crap on the go between the car/bike and other things. And since i got nailed with a nice speeding ticket i dont have the cash right now to get my tank professionally painted. So for now i did a temp painting to at least match the fairings. So heres a few pics of the work. And hopefully ill have more pictures tomorrow of the fairings (if they get deliverd)
So it took 3 days to finish the gas tank. Sanded with 180, 300, 600, 800, 1500 and 2000 grit sand paper, 4 coats of primer, 3 coats of base, 3 coats of colour, 3 coats of clear, 3 coats of polishing compound, 3 coats of wax. Like i said, its not going to look pro, but i did better then i thought i would.
Best i could do to the windscreen because of the material its made out of and the condition its in.
Also changed my shifter to GP Style, so all i did was flip the linkage around. Changes how i change my gears...instead of going 1 down and 5 up, its 1 up and 5 down.

its a work in progress so give it time, should have the new look in a day or two. Also remember, im not a body shop guy so this gas tank is only temp. Will have the money in a few weeks to bring it into Echo Cycle to get professionally done.
And let me remind you what my gf and kids did to the bike...hence why im doing all this work..

Thats awesome man. I painted mine after i wrecked at jennings. Low-sided going almost 90mph.

After:
Painted it myself. Took about 2-3 weeks to do the whole bike, working a few hours a night after work. Was very gratifying after it was done.

yea that was also the caused by the kids. Kids like touching the bike to set the alarm off. They hit the bike to set the alarm off, the wind took the bike the rest of the way, think it got up to like 90kph gusts that night and with a empty tank, a cover acting like a sail...didnt take much to tip it over.

Well my fairings finally came. Came home for lunch today and right before i was about to head back to work, Canada Post dropped off 2 huge boxes. Parts were nicely wrapped. Had to do abit of moding to get the fairings to fit correctly...some holes that were already drilled were off by a few mm and other parts i had to cut right off to get the two upper and lower fairings to connect to each other and in that process made a small paint chip that ill touch up tomorrow. Took me and florence 3 hours to get the bike all put back together.

looking at the pictures of the fairings on the web site (since they arent installed) i was expecting the lower and center fairings to blend together but i guess not, besides the slight fitment issues i had during install, thats my only complaint of these fairings.
