out of province inspection

So i wanted to get my car inspected today and i talked to the mechanic first at Canadian Tire (was going to get it done there since my gf works there). However he informed me i would fail because of a issue i have with my DRL. I have Gen 1 Lights with HID's in them, because of the HID's not being plug and play it causes my left light not to turn on for DRL...i can flip my highbeams on then off and the DRL will come on but not when i start the car up and he said i would fail. Was going to install my stock headlights but i dont have the forward wiring harness with the turn signal bulb and high beam bulb.

I went to the dealership to see if i could get the harness and u have to buy the whole headlight, will cost me $650 so i said the hell with that.

Anyone got any ideas of how i can fix this for cheap or someone that does inspections that will let this issue slide. Like i said my DRL do work...but i have to flip my highbeams off then on to get them to both turn on. But to the mechanics thats no good.

ya thats a fail. and yes its true that you can not get the harness without buying the whole headlight assembly. i used to have a few extra's but sold them. you can try talking to a gm mechanic and see if they have some or talk to someone on here in edmonton and see if they will lend you their stock harness for a bit and you'll buy them lunch or something.

i fix it...im not good with wiring but i fixed it, had to cut some wires to get the HID's out of there and re-wired the stock wiring harness...stock headlights r in with normal lights...now i have to strip the night shade off my tail lights. But soon as im done the inspection tomorrow...putting my gen 1'st back in with the hid's and re-tinting my tail lights...and maybe some window tint in the front..lol

Just jumper a wire to power the headlights when the car is running and take it off after the inspection.
