Proposal for Calgary meet ALTERED: 8th Sept. Post if you can come.
 

Hiya all. well id like to get on this quickly, as the season is slipping away and the longer we have to get this organised the better.

I have a trip back to Australia in mid sep, and the only full weekend i have off that will work for me would be Friday Sep 1st Saturday Sep 2nd Sunday Sep 3rd.

Id like to throw this out as a time for a Calgary meet!


I will offer my services to help organise from the Edmonton end, and if we can get a few more people with some extra time on hand, we can brainstorm and keep in touch and have a solid plan in place when the weekend happens, with weather contingiencies and contact numbers etc etc.


Another Idea i had was that we could meet and hit the track friday night without doing a "meet". so things arent so cramped on a day where some people will have come off work.

and do a proper daytime meet/lunch/cruise on saturday when people will have more time to play with.


These are my Ideas so far.
would love some more input. and im hoping this weekend will work for most people, I think its a good time to do it.

I don't know if I can do the 1st. I can't really take a Friday off work. I would be able to come out on Saturday the 2nd though.

That sounds like a sweet idea.Any day is good for me.

yeah MI6 that was one of the reasons i think the saturday meet thing would work too.

Unfortunately the race nights are fridays so theres not much option there. but at least people who cant go to race city can come for a nice lunch/meet/cruise on saturday.

i think unfortunately there will never be a weekend where everyone will be available :/

Yeah, I know. They need to start doing street-legals on Saturday night, or all day for that matter. I wont be able to make it for racing on Friday, but I would come and cruise Saturday. A nice run to Banff and back would be nice. We could have lunch there and see the sights.

And yes, no matter when you plan a meet, not everyone will be able to come.

I'll be there though.. it's easier for me to go this time.. and then watch someone elses car break on the way down lol! Well hopefully not.. cause that sucked ass! I didn't know it was possible to take 5.5 hrs to drive up to edmonton lol!

I booked off the day--(turns out the rain would have cancelled me anyhow but this was impossible to predict) I was willing to take no pay---for a mini-holiday in Edmonton. But I guess money can be an issue for some

I'm going to be in between Jobs in a week's time so it's next to impossible to know what my schedule is going to be like, otherwise I'm all for coming down on a Saturday.

im heading to vancouver on sept long weekend but if im in calgary on friday ill stop by sorry guys

COME UP TO RED DEER GODDAMNIT!!!!! Ok sure we don't have a freakin drag strip but look at the geography... Its not far for any1 in either Calgary or Edmonton to drive (sorry also surrounding area!!) But its nice to cruize around, always cheap places to stay and well on Saturday it can get pretty good around here.. Sure I'm the only guy in my town really interested in the car we own but shit.. I think I on my own could set up a pretty good meet even if it is in RD/Red Hole.lol.. Ok maybe we'll just sit around in some lawn chairs and shoot the shit and be happy what we own but we'd get noticed too.. Lifes not about the 10second 1/4 mile or something you know...lol Or what ever baldy said in tat movie ;)

Ya dragon was the first at Ikea and sure didn't want it to end let me tell ya!! hehe but anyways ya maybe sometime you guys will let me set a meet up here and maybe even come to RD if I decide to try a meet in Red Deer?? Not saying its going to be perfect but hey as long as we get to be with the car we love its no biggy and yes I was there right till the end!! Sadly I never got to meet everyone at Ikea b4 we sorta got split up and all but we can blame it on the weather!! Damn mother nature.. hehe Ok all it was nice meeting you that I did :) Lets try a more day timeish meet though soo we can also get some drive bye vids please... Ok all take care!! Yah, it's over and past history now. Lets forget about what went wrong and move on. At least we know what needs to be fixed next time. I've been a dick about the last meet at times, and we all need to just forget it and move along.


Anyhow, just a general thought. This meet probably wouldn't happen on Sep. 1, 2, or 3rd. That is a long weekend, lots of traffic, lots of people who are already doing something. We should make it later in September if you are serious about. Otherwise, it may have to wait until the spring until another big meet happens. Just my $0.02!
