So I took my car in to CMP today for an annual inspection, a couple of hours later they phone me back and tell me that I have a bent rim, therefore resulting in a leaking tire. He told me that I will need to buy a new pirelli tire ($383.00), and quite possibly a new rim, if it is not repairable. Why would I need a new tire if it's just the rim that is screwed up. I was curious to see if anyone out there had a rim and/or tire for sale for a 2005 cobalt ss/sc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

I found our stock Pirelli tire on the tirerack.com for like 150.00. Sounds like they are trying to jew the **** outta you. You can buy 4 Kumho tires for the price of that.

 

I have a stock pirelli with less than 3k n them, but I think you live to far away to ship it and it really save you any money. Otherwise I would let it go for 100 bucks, you pay shiping. If you wany a pic PM me and I can Email you one.

Yeah he was just joking with the jew useage. It is actually very common to use that term, not in a demeaning way, when someone is trying to rape you (the new "jip").

 

Also, to answer the question- there is no way that a bent rim could destroy a tire to the point that you have to replace the tire unless you drove flat for a while.

 

 

I say take it to a different dealership next time.. that's retarded!! lol!
