In for the winter

Well today me and my friend were going to load my bike on his truck to bring it to a storage unit. However the place wasnt heated and wanted to charge me $105 a month for a 10x10 space. As my friend was driving over here i had a crazy thought "why dont i park the bike in my apartment"....its free, safe (security wise), warm and i can work on it without driving across the city to get to my bike. So after looking at my options of how to get the bike in here I came to a conclusion of taking the railing off my patio, using the raling and some 2x6 boards as a ramp and rolling bike straight through the living room into the dinning room. Seems like everything worked out. I'm taking the gas tank off and going to drain it outside into a jug, disconnect the battery and few other things to make this safe to have it in here. Anyways heres a few pictures..lol

Now i just have to find a way to get the 370z in here for the winter, haha

I wish I could bring cool stuff in the house! Especially the kitchen. The warden says car parts belong in the basement =(

yea...i drove the bike from my parking spot to the front of the apartment where i drove on the sidewalk, over the grass and into the apartment....-10 with ice/snow all over the place, that was fun. Well a little more info on whats going on. I ripped the bike down, replaced the air filter. Brought the gas tank outside and started to empty it a dump way...gas all over the place, did it the smart way but didnt buy a big enough jug....so double fail...lol. Thank god i have a drain on my patio outside. And its now snowing again so the snow will mix with the gas so its all good...heres some more pictures. Also a note to everyone...this is the best place to work on the bike, its warm, i have the computer if i need to find a how-to, i have food and drinks 2 feet away...lol.

Bike with the gas tank and airbox off

Tomorrow im going to continue my tear down. Going to take off the rear fender, exhaust system and do the jumper mod and the kleen mod.

What was funny is there is a Bus Stop right outside my patio. I had 5 people wondering what the hell i was doing 1. riding a bike in -10* weather with snow/ice on the ground. 2. Riding the bike down the sidewalk. 3. Ripping my railing of the patio off. 4. Riding the bike into the apartment. Some funny looks i got today

I'm enjoying your threads. In a way, you're teaching me how to tear mine apart and where things are, i.e. i never knew the air filter was under the tank.

lol, that makes 2 of us. I'm learning as i go. I look on the kawasaki forums and get a basic idea and then i just look at the bike and start ripping things apart. I got like 10 little baggies with what part its from written on it and put pieces in there, ie..screws and whatnot. Whats pissing me off right now is i still didnt do my Out of Province Inspection so im not sure if i can put aftermarket parts on and pass it...iiunno what will fail me. I know HID's will but iiunno what else. Also im hoping i dont have extra bolts...lol. Last time i took the bike apart i couldnt find where 4 bolts/screws went to..lol

I hear ya. When i did the fender elim and wired in my integrated rear brake/signal light, i had the whole left side fairings apart and when i put it all back together, i has 2 bolts left, hahaha. Still don't know where they came from. Do you have HID's on yours? I want to put them in mine as well, jsut wondering how you would rate the difficulty. My buddy's '07 CBR600 was a piece of cake.
