reading through this i saw some really good things said, i'm glad other people have the same train of thought with me in regards to our animalistic nature, not only with war and territory but we're still very primal with relationship's, children, belongings. that and with the guns thing, there's no way around it really. and to be honest if calgary every got that bad that i needed one to go out i would get one. i feel bad for some of you american's that need to have them because of the crime rates.

As for the operator, i wouldn't even be on the phone past dialing 911, the operator i'm sure can hear the screaming to send a unit immediately without me telling her a damn thing, DUH. If guns were banned this guy would likely have a kitchen knife, less likely to cause fatal(death) to the wife and kids, giving u exponentially better chances to grabbing him and knocking his ass out while the cops are on the way......take away the gun, take away the probability of death, very simple.
No I'd SHOOT his ass! Reading comprehension isn't your stong suit is it? Why bother getting close enough to "knock him out" when bulletts are very effective at a distance greater then his reach! Keeping you and the family out of harms way all together and never needing to try going hand to hand with the guy.

Tell you what, you fight him hand to hand or knife to knife if you want but me I'll stand 30feet back and pump 6 rounds of .45 caliber into his ass. I GAURENTEE he ain't getting up.

Crime ain't that bad here that "I need one" I choose to have one. I was in the Army, dad was a cop, uncle was a cop, grandfather was a US Marshal, I come from a VERY long line of gun loving Americans that understand its nothing more then a tool, like a hammer to be used when needed and only if needed.

Sorry but coming from a family in law enforcment there is NO magic way to find every gun in the country! Guns ARE NOT CHIPPED, never have been and all you need to do is go buy a new barrle and firing pin and TA DA you now have a different gun! Or do it on the cheap and run a file in the barrel to reshape the rifleing and a nail file to the firing pin and again TA DA you now have a new different gun that balistics can't match. How am I so sure of this? MY uncle worked in the crime lab for the Baltimore city police and for the FBI for more then 30 years, my dad was a city cop for almost 20 years!!! So unless the police and the FBI somehow missed this magic gun locator it DOESN'T EXIST! PERIOD!

I think posts in regional sections should be limited to those that live in that region... keep all the gun happy bullshit out of at least one section of these boards.

How did this turn into US vs Canada? If McCain won the election I would have been happy to relocate to Canada. Don't feel too bad about your crime rate though, I'm around Chicago and you know what they did to reduce the murder rate? Classify gang deaths as suicides! Nice huh?

Nononono I wasn't giving you any grief sorry if it came off that way. Its all good man. And yeah I know the areas your talking about as there are more then a few in Baltimore. The area I live in however isn't NEARLY that bad! Kids ride bikes, go trick-or-treating at Halloween without the need for us walking with them! But yeah its sad when you have to fear for your kids every time they go outside if your gonna see them again. I blame that crap on the welfair system and no way out out look toward life.

Its sad, and if you don't have that problem in Canada I envy you all who live there for that reason alone. Cause I HATE your tax system!

alberta is starting to get really bad due to rival gangs that do drive by's and hit bystanders and they don't care, they'll do it in broad daylight, in malls where ever they get the chance. the clubbing scene however has cleaned up a fair amount now that they've put metal detectors at most of them.
