This happened to me as well except I was pulled over just for the tint. Got the fronts retinted about a week later, haven't had any trouble since that was about 2 years ago. Really depends on the cops in your area. Try asking around with people that have it

In BC you can't have any tint at all on your front windows

Our state law is vague and confusing. Cops aren't allowed to enforce the tint but they think they can. Law states point of inspection and 70% which is stock tint or you have to be able to see through it. So, which one is it? I have 35 and 30% all around, but I see many more with way darker around town. Never an issue personally.

He is asking people around here, that's why it's posted in Canadian East.

I've had mine tinted for close to a month now and haven't had any issue yet- they are 35%. Someone I know has gotten 2 tickets, both times from pulling into a parking lot and having a cop follow him in. Another friend has had front windows tinted on multiple cars over years time and has never gotten a ticket for it. He's even been pulled over with front tint on and the cop never said anything. There's always going to be the risk around here.

It's a little bit silly that we can't have any front tint.

It makes cops nervous when they stop a car as they cant see what's inside when they come up to your window is what I was told ^

That makes no sense. Most people already have their window rolled down by the time the cop walks over.

At 35% like I have though, you can see in just fine. That should be the legal limit imo.

And I was also told when a cop pulls up beside a car with tinted front windows they cant see who's inside driving it.

I was thinking of doing 50% but that might be TOO light, 35 maybe?

And yeah I posted in my region to see if anyone woul chime in, nobody2u is the only one I think haha

I read that tint is dangerous in that other drivers or pedestrians cannot make eye contact with you when stopped/turning etc.

One of my friends had a impala with 5% all the way around and drove like an idiot all the time and never got anything for it. I guess it's the same deal as the license plate covers, the ARE illegal but you have to find a really bad cop for it.

Just worried about the cost of a ticket for one, I don't even have power windows so I can roll them down when I see a cop lol

When you get pulled over roll down all of your windows immediately, cut the car off, put your hands on your wheel. Do not reach for anything (license, etc.) until they are at the window.
Doing this alone is a huge step in the right direction in dealing with police. I have been thanked for it and told I was being let off for being so cooperative.

I can understand how the cops feel as a lot of them do get shot while making a traffic stop.

A friend of mine had 50% on the front on his old car and always said you could barely tell it was even tinted. He got his front done 35% this time with me. As for how dark 35% is, you can see in very easily in the sunlight, but if it's cloudy or dark- you can still see the person inside, but it's much harder.

My ideal tint% would be something like 20-25% all the way around, but that just isn't happening around here. Also keep in mind that how dark your windows are in the rear will impact how well you can see in the front windows when they are tinted.

If its night flick your dome light on as well.
Anything you do to show respect, be courteous, and put the officer at ease will score you major points. They are used to douche bags and disrespect all too well, kindness and respect gets you far. Also, never call a trooper officer either.
