Well, spring is soon and I need new tires again. I want to get some tires that will last a while instead of replacing them every year. I could lay off the throttle but that's not an option lol.

My options are:
Nitto nt555 extreme-performance summer- 300 treadwear
Bfg gforce sport-performance summer-350 treadwear
Continential extreme contact Dws- performance allseason- 540 treadwear
Yokohoma s drive- performance summer- 300 treadwear
Bfg gforce ta kdw- performance summer-300 treadwear
Conti extreme contact dw- performance summer- 340 treadwear.

I have arranged these from lowest price to highest price.

treadwear ratings aren't interchangeable between manufacturers.

 

I'm purchasing kdws to go with my new drag rims. The best performance for the money by far they do have some road noise but u have to give a little comfort for amazing traction and handling. That's my opinion.

 

I have always likes the look of the Kdws but have heard of them being noisy. Hmm. I just want something that is gonna last a while.

 

BFG GForce TA KDW !!! ... i had them on for 3 summers ... switched to some Nitto Invo last summer ... and i'm going back to the KDWs this summer !!

 

i love my KDWs. yea they are a little noisey but if u have exhaust or whatever u prolly wont even hear them or just turn the radio up

 

have always loved conti's.

 

I love seeing kdws on cars at work they look amazing! Can't wait to throw mine on rims sometime this next week or so!

 

i currently run the KDWs and i seem to lose traction in 2nd gear a lot.....(in the summer time of course)

 

The Continentals are 540 tread wear, with 50,000 mileage warranty!

 

How are the Conti extreme contact Dws as far as traction goes?

 

im looking at the continental extreme contact dw they are supposedly the best on the market at the time. anyone have personal info on these?

 

I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the KDWs this spring as well, I've heard nothing but good. Besides everytime I see Jer's tires they look so good. I'll be ordering from discount tire direct

I'm in the same boat as all you guys... thinking of going for some 225's instead of the 215's this time....

Looking at a few dif models.... ones currently on car (Toyo Proxes 4's) got super loud at the end of the season this past summer - so I won't be getting those again.

 

I have narrowed it down to nitto nt555 extreme, Bfg gforce sport, Bfg gforce ta kdw, or Conti extreme contact dw.

These will be 235/40/18

 

^^ your should really look into the Hankook evo v12, or dunlop direzza star spec. they beat out the kdw's in almost every aspect.

 

Hows the treadlife on them tho. I don't want something that will wear out in a summer.

So unless you are comparing that 280 to another Hankook product, it means nothing.

 

Seems like a few of us locals are all shopping for boots for the SS's huh, it'd be nice to get a group discount heh

 

I have the Nitto NT555's on the front of my car and have had them there for over a year. i still have about 75 percent tread left and i have a pretty heavy foot. If you use them on the strip as well just make sure to air them down first or the traction wont be there

 

I need two new shoes come spring too. I imagine I'll just pick up two more Exclaim UHP's. They've treated me well so far.

This, ****** love these tires. Cheap as **** and do the job almost no road noise, only spin in first with no boost reduction..Lot of vettes use them for street/drag. also if you catch them on rebate from discounttiredirect you get a good deal...I got mine 85 or 90 a piece...got 5k on them look brand new
