Gen 2 aiming probs! help!

hi, i have gen 2 projos with hids. the pass side aim is fine, the driver side is pointing way down. when i try to use the adjustment screws, the height barely changes. when i use the adjustment screws for the highs, the beam barely moves. anybody else with these probs? maybe pull them apart and adjust manualy and put back to together so their set in one place only.? i dont no, i really dont want to have to get rid of these. and i have searched a looked at how to's and haven't found them helpful.

thx, brad

ya. i have the depos and it does this too. ive adjusted them in a crazy way and they just never aim even. i cant get it. im assuming its on purpose so you dont blind other drivers on the other side of the road. it lights up the curb and lets the other drivers still be able to see haha. annoying but u get used to it. wat pisses me off is that the hid's turn off when u turn the hig beams on so when u turn the highs off u have to wait for the hids to warm up again. stupid but u get used to it iguess

i dont really have the high beam issue you have , i have 6000k in projos and fogs. there brighter then my highs. any body else, i might pull these apart, i really dont want to go back to stock.

ha. o my hid's are 5000k and they are WAY brighter than my highs but the hid's aim to low to see deer or something in the road ahead so i usually use them. but if i turn on the highs for more than like 2 minutes the hid's cool off and i have wait for them to warm up for like 20 seconds before i can see good again ha. annoying s shit.

ha ya.. id LOVE to know how and if that would even be safe. my guess would be to put more stress on one fuse and or wire. i bet it wouldnt be safe. but id love to do that. so gay that it doesnt stay on.

ya i know, but when you pull the stalk towards you, the hids stay on when the highs turn on

if i get rid of them, im just gonna paint my stockers then and get hids for them.

hid's in stock, reflector housings is a good way to:

1. get a ticket
2. cause an accident
3. get people pissed off at you

#3 is kinda a weak point because i think its fun to piss people off.

but dont you ever see dick compensators (big, jacked up trucks) with HID's and go "damn those are blinding bright!" thats what you will be doing to other drivers.

get retrofits if you want the look of the stock housings

i get what your saying, i know there bright, but there not as bright as taking stock headlights and putting them in. when you paint everything but, the back reflector, it really isnt that bad. i rather see where im going then buy cheap ass projos.

ha it defeats the purpose of having hids.. the hid's arent being projected. the light will just be thrown everywhere.. itll be annoying for everyone. i guess u can do it but it looks cheap and tacky and annoying as fuck.

i dunno i have actully seen it done and looks just fine. but for now i think im gonna rip these gen 2s apart and see if i can manually aim them. i really think some piece for aiming is broken off or something.

no man. im telling u mine do it too. left side aims down and right side aims higher. im betting u its on purpose so when ur driving down the road u have the curb on the right lit up and the cars goin by on the left arent being blinded.

ya but thats wierd then, cause other have projos and there just fine, i actully didnt have my headlights in all the way for awhile, and once i got that second clip in on the bottom the pass was was lower. as as for being safe, why are stock mazda projos and others aimed straight across?

caddiondubs 05-29-2011 01:16 AM

also my drivers cut off is pretty low on the ground, i can see it, then the pass side is higher but is still on the ground alittle.

DiabeticKripple 05-29-2011 01:21 AM

well i dont know anything about aiming 2nd gens. i have my 4th gens cranked as high as they go, and that is perfect. it comes up about halfway up the car im following, so no blinding them

caddiondubs 05-29-2011 01:31 AM

my next days off i think im gonna put the stockers back in, take the projos apart and see if i can manually aim them. will post when done.
