Lower Mainland, BC regular meets

OK so all of you lower mainlanders... I have a question... I'll posted this up on G5CLUB as well to gather interest.

But would everyone be interested in meeting for example, the first Saturday or Sunday of every month for like meet/greet/lunch at a given location somewhere in the Fraser Valley or Lower Mainland?

Let me know, I want to start having regular meet/greets! Even if 1 or 2 people shows, that'll be fine.

Everyone who is in the mainland, lets hear your input! I'll organize everything (if anyone wants to help it would be appreciated ).

Thoughts? Interested? Post up!!

If theres at least 3 people interested and can dedicate themself to this, I'll try to organize and day of each month and place to meet!

^^Get it fixed, buy another one or better yet, just come anyway.
(FYI-if you show up in a beater, I might be inclined to make jokes at your expense)

I'm down, Sat or Sun makes no difference.
Heres my request, nothing earlier than 10 am, I just don't do mornings very well

go for a base model.. you'll save $1000 on your insurace... get a pursuit/g5 2.2L and mod it... they can be fun too you know!!!

Mine, since my accident... I had a 15% discount, I'm now a 30% premium... its going to cost me $4200 for the next 3 years then I start building my discount again.

I think Sundays are good.. but I'm thinking a good time will be sometime during the day but not during the night because I don't like being out late before work the next day lol... oh well... We'll see... I'm thinking 8:00PM would be LATEST but I'm thinking more like 12:00-3:00PM sometime. Location, again TBD depending on how many people are interested and where they are located. We'll try to pick somewhere a bit central for everyone.

oh mike, if i get a jeep, im runnin over the hood of your car for that one.

Im lookin at a 97 grand prix GTP, 3800 series II supercharged. Found one with only 40k on it. $6500, even with my 40% surplus, its only $3000 to insure.

Can i come to the meets with that?

yes, i want a jeep, i no longer feel comfortable being so low, even the grand prix im taking away from options.

Lookin at a grand cherokee, i used to own a jeep liberty, after going high up, you dont feel safe in those small cars. If that truck hit my door, he would have taken off my head.

ooooh sure now that I don't live there you decide to have regular meets. You guys should just do a Sunday evening thing... That way everyone isn't busy and they're usually just idling around at home waiting for Monday morning to start the rat race again.

Oh I got all you guys beat
Now I'm at a 30% discount but at one time with my last car I was at a 400% surcharge.
So for a 1995 Honda Civic dragon Edition, the insurance for 1 year was $11600.00
My brother was the one who put there, he smacked it up real nice but then they changed the way the insurance works, started getting the actual driver rather than the car, so now his insurance is crazy....Karma's a bitch

I would be down for meets on a Sunday, between 4-6 would work best for me.

Unlimited.....We have a jeep we are thinking about selling......95 cherokee sport, 5" lift, 31/10.50 tires, just spent like four grand on posi and gearing........unfortunately we have 2 cars and a work van so this just sits.

I would be up for this once one of the cars finally hit the road. My wife usually works Sunday afternoons so she won't miss me if the meet is then.

OK... so to keep this somewhat central for everyone.. I'm thinking of THREE possible options... Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows; Langley or Coquitlam.

The only downer, there is many people on G5CLUB from Chilliwack which it may deter them from comming out if they have to drive very far... I was thinking a good place would be Mission Springs Bar/Restaurant in Mission (we'd sit on restaurant side)... Its based on old car stuff (they have an old 20's pickup hanging from the roof!)... really cool and good food.. I'd like that but I don't know what everyone would think of that.

But to be reasonable with everyone.. I'm thinking somewhere in Langley, Coquitlam or Ride/Meadows in all fairness. Prolly best bet would be Coquitlam.

Where does everyone think would be reasonable? We'll work from there.

FYI: I refuse to drive to Surrey because I don't like driving there.. I'll do Langley though. Thoughts??!!!

Its easy to find too... you don't have to drive around everywhere to find it.. plus everyone's rides will get freeway driving which is always healthy :-P. In that case, I can encourage the Chilliwack members to come out. I'm NOT just suggesting this because it is local for me, I really don't mind the drive (with exception to Surrey), its just a nice place... its based on old cars theme, easy to get to, great food, awesome price, its a brewy/bar/restaurant.. ONLY a 40min-1hr drive from Burnaby/Coquitlam/Surrey. About 25-30 mins from Chilliwack.

Since I'm running again those all sound good, I've had to bail on a meet and the Western Canada mega meet because of car problems.

Langley just means a ferry, but it's not that bad on weekends. Looking forward to putting some faces to forum avatars anyway
Hell, I drive to Chilliwack to meet some family friends every few weekends anyway, but some people might not like the distance.

Mission Springs sounds like an ok idea. Not far from the freeway and stupid easy to get to if you take Lougheed east from Coq. I would like a chance to get out and meet people who actually like these cars. Too many of my friends are into rice.
