2006 Chevy Cobalt LS (SS Upgrades)
2006 Chevy Cobalt LS (SS Upgrades)
148k miles. 2 owners. 5-Speed Manual (Stick Shift) Location: Greenwich, CT / Port Chester, NY (border of CT/NY) After 3 years of great reliability my engine is struggling. I bought the car with 113K miles from the original owner. Car had an oil leak (I didn't realize) and eventually caused oil starvation. Check engine never came on or anything. Couple days ago I heard a "rod knot" while driving low speed so I pulled over. The car still runs, I filled it up with oil to prevent any further damage and make it home. The sound quieted a lot after adding oil. If you know mechanics this is a great deal! If you're familiar with the LS model, it basically comes with NOTHING, I bought it fully stock. Everything in this list was added to the car. List of mods: - Full SS Bodykit - MSR 045 18x8" Wheels with 225/40/18 Tires (Brand new Yokohamas in the rear) - New Drilled and Slotted Rotors with Ceramic Pads done 3 months ago. - Custom Headlights with CCFL Bright Halos and 55W 5000K HIDs Low Beam - Fog Lights with 55W 5000K HIDs - Custom LED "GTR Mod" Tail Lights - Red LEDs Courtesy Lights (Foot Lights) - Partial Interior Black Swap - Power Windows/Locks with Keyless Entry - Low-Rise Wing - Magnaflow Muffler with 4" Tip - Shorty Antenna - Rear window is tinted 20% - Front Evo Mod and Vinyl Wrapped Emblem - Aux Cord Retro with Radio Tap - Rear Debadged - Kenwood Speakers in Doors - FE5 Cobalt SS Turbo Struts and Shocks - H&R Lowering Springs The good: - Great economy car - Parts and Repairs are really cheap - Cruise Control - 30-40MPG highway, my record was 46MPG for a trip driving at 55mph. - Sporty Coupe but sits 5 and comfortable with a lot of room. - Very unique car, gets a lot of compliments and attention. - Previous Owner and I always used 5W30 Synthetic Mobil 1 oil and changed the filter every oil change. - Maintenance up to date. The bad: - Engine Rod Knot (Main Problem) - Car has some small dents here and there from hail. Only the roof and trunk panels have a few. - Few scratches around, nothing too noticeable, a polish would prob get rid of most of them. Other than that I can't think of anything else. The engine is 100% stock. Only cosmetic mods. I'll throw in a set of 15" wheels (steelies) with all-season tires that I switch every winter with the sale. They grip pretty nicely in snow, never had an issue slipping and winters are harsh in NY. All the work was done by me / my mechanic. Any questions I have all the answers. PS. I copied everything from the Craigslist ad, you're mostly familiar with the car. PS2. Car still runs smooth especially after adding oil. I'm sure you could make it home. PS3. You could prob make 4k+ parting it out but I don't have a garage to do it. Thanks for looking! |
Sorry I can't post pics from my phone. Here check out the ad I'll try to fix the post when I'm on my computer!
Btw asking price is $2.5k, I can negotiate but I'll remove certain mods anything lower than that. 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS (SS Upgrades) |
