Sorry bud. I call bullshit. Seeing as I just sold and bought SS's; you are full of it.
I bought a 09 LNF for 3k less your asking.
A dude is buying a 09 LNF with 15k on for 12.9 in fort Myers from a dealer.
Your numbers are way off. Newer SS models with more features are selling for less with less miles...

You bought an 09 with less than 75k miles on it for 10? Not as clean as this one.
Kinda hard to believe but good for you if you did.
At any rate the year doesn't matter. Cars don't age by year. They age by mileage.
Plus you're making it seem as if an LNF is way better than an LSJ or has more options. Like what? This is a stage 2 with nearly a year left of warranty on the paint. Which an 09 would not have. Pretty sure it also would not have the custom black inserts or the myriad of other **** this one has.
An 09 with 15k? I'd have to check the VIN on that.

You should because your car isn't even worth 10k. 07's with less mileage aren't even selling for 10k. The fact that your car is "modded" doesn't add a penny to its value. In fact, with the mods you have, it's worth less.

However it won't change my position.
And the mods DO matter especially when comparing it to an 07.
Go buy an 07 for 9k then do a stage 2 upgrade to it to get the same performance.
You'll get to 13k real quick.
People like you are the reason dealers make so much money financing cars.
Bottom line is go buy one with less than 75k miles on it. Then do the motor work and the extras and show me the receipts.
Just because it was made a few years ago doesn't mean it's worthless.
This is STILL a car that WILL do 158mph.

I'll be happy to look at links to those vehicles.

Why fight lol if you arent buying the car why flame on the guy. The car is super clean and has tasteful mods. Yeah price might be high for the usual lsj but if that's what he think is worth and someone pays it good for him. Of it doesnt sell for months then its pretty clear he need to lower the price. But still great car for anyone starting to get
Btw how you get the top to be black? What you use?

I used fabric dye for the headliner btw. Had to replace the sunroof motor or something so I had to remove the headliner anyway. Kinda of a pain in the ass but it came out nice.

I'll take the latter.
Again, I get it. You can find an SS with less mileage or a newer year for slightly less. But this is still not a comparison to me. Go buy the car you linked (Which I'm sure will run up to around 14k by the time you walk off the lot), then go get the windows tinted, buy an exhaust, powder coat the wheels, custom paint all the plastics, buy a new head unit and all new speakers, etc, etc.
Even if you do the work yourself, how much are we up to?
Just sayin.
Thanks!

This is a really interesting subject to me.
In my mind, you are all for one Cobalt SS owners. And for two, likely people who enjoy modifying and customizing those cars.
Why are so many of you devaluing the work you do?
Shouldn't taking care of a vehicle and upgraded it be rewarded?
Or at least be fairly compensated for?

No.
Depreciation is a real thing and modding a car is not an investment. The more you mod it, the more you close yourself off of the market. Anything custom is not going to add value and you will never get back what you put in. That is why USED parts sell for less, just like USED cars.
I know you are proud of the money you put into your car, but you are never getting it back. If modding a car made money, dealerships would be modding more cars to sell them.
The reality is that the market value of your car is barely over $8k in PERFECT condition all stock. No one is bashing you, just trying to give you information as to why your car is overpriced.
