17" M&H slicks?

After tonight of my car spinning, hop, and flat out falling on its face, I'm ready to just fork out the money for traction at the track. I'm tired of it? I found these slicks https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...0bfd57923ca268 and some other drag radials. I want slicks for sure though. Has anyone ran these?

Those are the slicks that I intend to put on my car. ExSoccer pointed them out to me a while back. I should be ordering them in two weeks or so. I have my 17 inch SS/NA wheels at home and my spacers from Powell just came in today. Almost ready to go.

What width of a wheel would one need to run these? 8.5"? Or would a 7.5" be ok?

Pretty sure you would need a 17x8 wheel but a 17x7.5 MIGHT work not sure.I've been eyeing these slicks for a long time just havent found the right wheel i would run them on that has the proper width for it

These are about the same as my 245/45 Hoosier D.O.T's that I have. They're on a 17x7. They fit fine

Interesting. I have a chance to pick up four 17 NA rims for a decent price. I might get them and throw these on. These are pretty much the only slicks I've ran across other than a ton of DRs.

Summit and mickeythompson have them

Slick are definitely better. More give and less chances to break something compared to drs or streets.

I'll be putting them on at the track, so I have no need for a streetable (?) tire or a radial.

edit - hit enter too soon... noob.

I like the softer sidewall. More give, more traction, less breakage (hopefully).

Go them used on here. Haven't had a chance to use them. May sell them if I don't use em. No point in letting them sit.

How much? And did your mph suffer any because the slick is to tall?

Of course his mph would be lower cause he has a quicker 60ft. It wouldn't be cause I the taller tire.

while taller than optimal.. the 245/45/17 M&Hs are the best option if you just absolutely don't want to run 15"s.
