1st time at the track! EVER!

I've never had a car worth taking to the track or known anyone that went. This past weekend BriantheLion26 (Brian) and I went to Beaver Springs Dragway. I had a blast. It was hard at first. One, the track surface felt so different under me than regular asphalt. Two, we got their first thing in the morning and it wasn't the warmest of days (45 at the warmest part of the day). And lastly, I've never really had to launch my car all out before. So, the first run of the day, everyone was running slow till the track heated up.. But once it did the times just seemed to drop on their own. Now, I've been told Beaver Springs is a "slow" track, whatever that means. But my mods and my fastest run of the day are/were:

g85 (lim. slip)
Ingalls TD
AEM CAI
GM S2 w/ 2.9
GMPP Touring Exhaust

60'- 2.292
1/8- 9.1??
1/4- 13.939 @ 106.35

I ran more consistent at 14.0, 14.1, and 14.2 and an accurate average of my 60' is 2.3. I had fun, but I'm wondering how much of those runs was the track, driver error (maybe I'm shifting wrong down the track), or maybe I have a slow SS/SC, I dunno, I was expecting lower from a 2.9 pulley.

Anyway, Brian has a heat exchanger and downpipe over me (I think that's all) and he ran a 13.7??, so congrats to him (that was his goal). We also had a friend of his with us running a Cummins Deisel Turbo who just recently put a bigger turbo on since his last time at the track and ran a 12.99.

Also, I've seen some of the fastest cars I've ever seen in person, it was an awesome day. Among the celebrities was an early Y2K Roush 5.4 Mustang (Low 12's), a C4 Corvette with HUGE Hoosier rear drags ( low 11's I think), and a drag bike that ran in the 7's.......insane!

Cliff Notes:

1st time at the track. My mods are listed above. Ran a 13.939 @106.35. Thought I should have run faster, but was consistent around 14.1-ish, but I have been told the track we were at is a "slow" track, whatever that means. Still had a good time though. Loved seeing the really fast cars.

Look at the trap on that run, shows there some more potential for lower et's ....just get more practice and the et's should drop

yeah, that's what another member who lives in my home town told me. he said that the ET should be lower at a "faster" track with that trap. I dunno, like i said, I don't know much, it was my first time.

Yeah it was fun, we had a blast. I am still trying to figure out what gave my car a better top end. I guess those DP's with a highflow cat help a lot. I guess if you got a 3" catless DP you would have an even better top end. I'm sure my H/E helped a little bit but it was pretty cold out so I don't think temps were an issue.

I will post up some videos whenever I get them edited. I will post up some of us and definitely one of the cummins. That thing was just an animal.

Header and dp will help you out a bit.

What boost are you seeing with that 2.9?

Yeah I get around 16.25ish with the 2.9". It goes to about the tick past 15 which would be 16.25, but we all know how accurate the stock gauge is to begin with...
