2009 4-door Cobalt SS/TC......track times!!!!

What an awesome day!

80 degrees, no clouds......

The track was soooooo dead!
I was the 2nd car to tech. Probably less than 50 cars even after an hour of being open,
I could have ran 20 times but I went with 6.

Best run was my 1st.
Damn these cars are a BIT@H to launch!
No wonder its known as a roll car. I could have easily pulled many cars who got me today if we had a highway run......but I am not complaining, I am happy with it!

I sure shocked the poor GT who I had my best run with. As you can see he got out of the hole and I started to freight train..........look at the MPH at both intervals.

Best part was total reliability. Ran 14.3-14.4 each time and she never got hotter then 200!

Second best part is the lovely sound you are rewarded with when you nail the no-lift-shift..........pshhht

Anyway:

I am 100% stock!!!!

Lots of Challengers, Chargers, WrX;s, etc today!
The R/T's were runnin mid 13's while the SRT's were low 13's.

My buddy had the fastest street car there today with his EVO....ran a 12 @ 113.

I sooooooooooooooooo wish I had my Z but I had to see what the Cobalt could do.

How exactly were you launching the car? I found with leaving at 2000rpm and slipping the clutch the car takes off smooth. If you bog it down the turbo hits too hard and it will spin when it hits 2000-2500rpm...any higher rpm will spin too. With a 2.46 60ft i'd be willing it was lack of track prep more so than the driver. With the 103 trap speed im assuming you stayed in 3rd gear?

I love how this car compensates for the weather. I ran on a mineshaft day in december and get 104mph...you run on an 80 degree day with a sedan and get almost the same mph. Just imagine if you get that 60ft down :guns:

i left at 2k.....no matter what i did, it just didnt work,

did just like u said.
T&T was only $20 today so prep was horrible!

if i didnt bog it, i lite em up, got wheel hop, etc.

it def has more in her!

hmm, I think the sedan should get a faster time than that right? C&D tested the sedan and had the 1/4 time listed as 14.0-14.1 If you got a tune only how many seconds could you theoretically shave off?

i forgot all about that track...i use to go there as a kid my moms friend had a drag car that he use to run on that track...

The prep at Union Grove is always terrible.Over the years that place has turned into such a shithole.Last time I went 60' times weren't working.I am going to Byron next Sat abo 1 or 2 pm.
