going to the track tonight (great lakes drag in wisconsin?)

hey all, few q's for tonight!

so after work im going to great lakes drag way for 'real street drags' first off, is anyone going?

also whats a good PSI to set my front and rear tires to? i'm just on street tires, continental extreme grip dry wet snow (not great for launching i know)

i'm thinkin 30 psi front and 34 rear? idkk...

anyway my plan is to launch around 3000 rpms and slowly let off the clutch and mash the gas around 20 mph.

hopin to get down to a 13.5 but anything under 14 and i'll be happy last year when i was stock my best time was 14.8 @ 103 i think

oh and my mods are 2.8, 60#'s, injen, zzp longtube combo catted, ottp stg2 mounts, 2nd h/e, strut brace.

drivetrain: gmpp clutch, twm, and zzp axles. i know, thats a TON of crazy mods

A guy named sean tuned me just to get me going earlier this winter so i could pass emissions i gotta get a wideband kit for my aeroforce before i get rly tuned which sucks because he charges $250 for a tune, the widebands another $200... and i'm throwing a p0420 now i think

and don't the rears gotta be at 32 stock? why would u lower the rears?

Go to a buffet before going to the track then a few mins before you go on take some laxative. Youll finish your drag so fast..

I had my fronts at 22 rear at 35. Remove spare and jack saves some weight and is easy. Move passenger seat all the way forward and tilted forward. Take out floor mats empty windshield washer fluid 1/2 tank gas. All really easy weight reduction. Used to work for GPS however I'm not sure of LSJ filter locatIon but you could remove one headlamp as well to get more air to filter.

yea i shifted too early in 1st and 2nd, its either that or reldine 1st and get locked out of 2nd tho

i could take 1st up to 30-35 and 2nd to about 65-70 ideally and that rly makes for a faster run

Being honest, don't waste your money with Sean, take the trip to Kentucky and visit James. His tunes are far cheaper and you will be happy. **** if you wanted to I would take a trip down with you!

HAHA I'm just south of Joliet and its about 5.5 hrs from me. I've been to him 3 times and have made a 1 day trip out of it. I will leave at about 5am, get there around 10:30. Tune for a few hours. I can get there and back on 2.5 tanks of gas. Yes its more driving, but guaranteed you are still under the price that Sean will charge and a far better tune!

this has nothing to do with Sean....but how is 2.5 tanks of gas($110) plus I'll say $20 in food/snacks.....gonna be less than the local guy? So he only charges $120 for a tune then?

I misread what he was saying, I was thinking that he was saying it will be $450 to go to Sean. For some reason I was thinking that it was 250+200 for wideband tune lol dont ask haha
