last night times

i took the beater car up to intense yesterday and had them install a stage 4 kit with 2.8" pulley. last night i decided to stop in at the strip and see what it could do:

my best was 13.204 @ 107

then i ran 3 other runs with one 13.5 and two 13.4's

the 13.2 run was with a semi-soft launch (already got one busted cobalt, don't need both of them down) because i didn't want to risk killing the stock clutch. i would say it's got enough topend to throw some dr's on and with a hard launch you could turn 13flat all day long, without sacrificing too much of the speed. the mods on timmy are header, exhaust, stage 4 with 2.8" pulley and welfare airbox mod.

i thought the car would start falling some on the top end, but anything over 4k pulls hard until you run out of revs

hey man that's a great time!!! so you mean to tell me that you got that thing to hook up without drag radials?! Tell me how ya did man.... maybe i can get a little practice but i can't go without serious wheel hop and one day i'm gonna snap one of these halfshafts lol..... i bet if you hooked up, your trap should be somewhere around mine (110.4mph)

I like to see you guys with the Cobalts running times around mine with mods that probably cost considerably less money than the $4,300 I had to put into my drivetrain alone for this swap.... almost makes me wanna buy a Cobalt

the dr's usually lower the trap but decrease the et's. it's a toss up and you have to find what works best with these cars, this is only the second time i took a cobalt to the strip, and i would need a few more runs before i started making assumptions on what will work and what won't.

the best thing to help your launch is just practice. and remember sometimes you go faster by going slower off the line.
