Which launch technique seems best?

Critique these two approaches to launching and feel free to add opinions of your own or experiences you have had personally.

Launch Technique 1: Rev up to your desired launch RPM and hold it there steadily until the green light, then letting off and feathering the clutch and gas out of the hole through 1st gear. Remember, boost will fall down and stay down while the pre green light stage using this technique. I have found that while waiting to launch, punching the throttle in neutral will cause the boost to build quickly but it rapidly falls back down even if you hold the RPMs at a steady high level.

Launch Technique 2: Wait patiently until the 2nd stage light, just before green to punch the throttle so that you can begin moving on green just at the instant where the boost builds and before it tries to settle, this will prevent any bogging issues from occuring. The problem with this technique is that it is harder to control what RPM you actually launch at because you are more or less punching the gas hard in order to guarantee the boost builds sufficiently.
