Launching a 2009 Cobalt SS

Alright, so my 60ft's suck, badly. I'm running consistent 13.7's and 13.8's with an occasional 13.6 @ 108-110. I'm pretty sure I should be running a better time for my trap. The only problem I'm having is getting off the line (like I'm sure we all do) I've tried launching from 1.5k all the way to the launch controls 5k. I just can't seem to get a better consistent 60ft then a high 2.3 and it's driving me crazy! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Every time I start a good launch the car catches traction and bogs down which is costing me at least a half second on my 1/4 mile.

I've been running just a tune but I picked up the ZZP catless DP this week and re-tuned.

I launch at like 2000-2500 but I also never floor it through first gear. Just ride out the clutch a little bit. Never do the same thing twice also.

Yeah, flooring it in first is a lost cause. I don't understand how anybody can NLS in first. Maybe they've got stock tune and better tires or something.

I NLS first to second... lol. I usually floor it and let off at 6k rpms and ride 1st to like 27-30mph and then NLS 2nd.

Is the stage 1 driver mod covered under warrenty?

No but i need more practice at the track as well. Waiting on some new tires b4 I go again. These stockers are done. But I launch at 3 grand, honestly so far iv just floored it and NLS'ed all the way through to 4th and landed a 13.6. To beat that I imagine I need to be easy in 1st then give it hell in 2nd and 3rd. Hard though b/c with my tune at like 70% throttle im at 21lb of boost. A little touchy after the tune

Nope, it's aftermarket. GM doesn't offer a driver mod at this time.

Would you believe I had to NLS to 5th the other day taking on a Stage 3 Roush? I never thought that day would come I'd be in a situation that I'd to need to do that.. (FYI, it's a bit trickier than a 2 to 3 shift)

..and for those that are wondering.. I won that one. He utterly raped me on the second run though. It was my first loss to a Mustang. At least it was worth it.

I ran my car 4 times and i've only managed a 13.43 with a tune and a lousy 2.28 60ft. I'm still getting used to the car but it seems like leaving from 2000rpm is still the best spot for it. Ride the clutch out alittle and keep the rpm at 2000-2500rpm....flooring it will result in blowing the tires off in first but I feel it's actually quicker doing that than easing into it. I tried launch control but dumped the clutch too soon...the car bogged horrilby and then spun.

One pass I made had a slightly better 2.24 60ft and I did the 1-2 NLS. The car spun 2nd gear so bad the car slowed down by .3 LOL.

Where driver mod ends, traction mods begin. I've only made 2 passes(stock-14.15 @ 105) and I'm sure I could do a little better but I'm wondering how you guys with tunes get ANY traction. I adjusted tire psi(26/40 f/r);don't know how much it helped. I'd suggest rotated mounts and/or drag bags-ala "pigskin" mod
