Raced a 2006 Mustang GT yet?
 

New to the forum. I think the Cobalt SS is a cool car. There is a few in my area, but I have'nt had the chance to race one yet. Has anyone here raced a 06 Mustang GT yet? if so what was the outcome? thanks.

from a 40 I put 3 cars on a stock one with my mods.

I beat one at the track pretty well.

Beat one by 1.5 lengths from a dig! He gave up at 110!!!

are you stock cuz they are supposed to run like 13.5

They are running 14.5 out here in AZ, and I am running 14.1-14.3. I beat them all day long. I raced one last night at speed world and come across them all the time at Firebird Raceway.

i beat one at the track just the other day, granted he wasnt a good driver, and i beat one from a roll from 40 pretty badly

Before I bought my SS/SC, I drove someone else's and raced a stock, automatic GT and it was dead even from 60-100mph. I couldn't believe it either. I recently raced one, and it wasn't even close. He started a car in front and got the jump. I started in 2cnd gear, and by the end of second gear I had ~2cars on him going into 3rd and kept pulling. The guy wouldn't look at me afterward. :)

In ND the speed limits are 70, I raced one with my stock SS/SC from a 70 mph roll and stayed dead even with him until 4th then i took me like 10 seconds to pull 1 car length.

after I raced one, the guy said, " that thing is pretty quick". That was after I pulled on him about 2 car lengths from a dig to about 3rd.

I put a good 4.5 cars on gray and white striped 5-speed.... the guy literally just bought it, because i caught him pulling out of the dealer... It might have been a little closer i guess if he had some time to get used to the car before beating the hell out of it the first time you get it

Hey Florida's Finest SS- My car is a 5-speed with a C&L CAI with 93 octane SCT2 tune.

Any track times??

keep in mind drivers make a huge difference, but i would love to see times as well

we are all on the same page about 2006 not 05-below we're talking about the brand new ones, i'm not calling anyone out just stating that i don't see stock cobalt ss/sc beating the newest mustangs.

With = drivers from a dig the SS/SC shouldn't touch them.

lol i agree.... any guys i know with an 05-06 Stang GT that i know can drive very well... never race from a dig.... Cobalts, or better yet anything thats high power and front wheel drive WILL NOT be able to outlaunch them

And not calling you out, but new mustangs around here don't run 13.5 stock.;)

Nope, have'nt been to the track yet. Looking forward to going once it cools down. Will probably wait until about Sept. or Oct.

I've only beat old Mustang GT's, never had a chance to race a new one but the fastest I've personally witnessed a new Mustang GT convertible was a 14.3. I run high 13's...

I'm a mustang owner, and I can back this up. I race 05 GT's all the time at the track. With an exceptional kick ass driver, and I mean someone willing to beat on the tranny, a manual can get a 13.7. But stock, most I see run 13.9 to 14.5. Now, I have heard of some running the famous 13.7 stock, but the only person I met that can do it is Paul at Pauls High Performance. But Paul could get a 15 second run out of a Yugo!!! LOL.

With mod, and some practice, most of the modified ones I run are in the mid 13's. I've run two that were faster, one ran mid to high 12's, the other ran a high 11, both of those cars were Powerhouse Turbo cars like mine, so go figure. Oh, and I saw one run a 13.09, he had nearly every bolt on available. But I am confident he will hit high 12's. He's a good driver and friend of mine.

With those mods you should run about a 13.3 if you can drive. The tune really helps them due to the crappy ford throttle control. Stock they are 13.8 cars.

Havent raced any 05 06 GT's everytime i run into one the guy or girl driving it is a million years old
