Ran best time at track tonight

Well i ran my best time at the track tonight. I ran it with bald ass stock tires, a slipping clutch and and with the mods in my signature. I don't have a scanner so i will type it all out.

R/T- .081
60'- 2.133
330- 5.792
1/8- 8.744
MPH- 83.04
1000- 11.282
1/4- 13.407
MPH- 106.60

I know with some good tires and a new clutch i can get high 12's on current setup.

well they say slicks can take 4/10 of a second off your time and with a solid clutch i know i am good enough of a driver to get 12's

A 2.13 on street rubber isgood with that much power. Its going to be tough to shave .4 just with tires and a clutch.

No way are slicks going to cut .4 off your time if you already have a 2.13 60'

if i can cut a 1.9 60' i think i can pull a 12.99 only because my buddy's srt traps a little lower then me and pulls 1.9 60's on slicks runs 12.90's. We will see once i buy a set of slicks.

i am looking for a digi cam to post my slip up so ican get on the top 10 list.

If you cut 2/10s off your 60' you wont be 4/10s faster especially because slicks will lower your trap speed.

Once you put that 2.8" pulley on, you're no longer GM Stage 2 .

Nice times to the poster! What elevation is your track at, and how were the weather conditions?

Well the dicussion started with his mods which is more than stage2 and a 2.8 Pulley.

If you can shave time in your 60ft it can more than double at the end of your quarter. a fast trap does not mean a fast time. I have trapped a best 1/4 that actually had a lower trap for the day.

2.13 is very possible. I have got 2.18 and know that it can be done better.

Clutch and tires should make the difference for him to lower his time by 0.4 IMO. the harder we can launch the more we will have at the end. I am getting a 2.8 pulley then I want tires.

FYI - being a guinney pig. I dont think anyone has tried P245/45r17. I hope to get that size in real sticky rubber like the NITTO 555R. After that and then it is back to getting more power or LSD. if we can get a lauch under 2.0 then we are good to go for more power.

actually they are 215/45r17 on a redline. Big difference.

I have been looking around seeing other tires that people have been able to fit.

255/50r16 is the same size of 255/45r17 and now that is what I would shoot for. Need a set of 17x8" rims though.

He probably means the 555r , they only have one drag radial . There is a member of this site that runs a 255/50-16 BFG drag radial as well ...I dont remember his screenname though . Theres more room up in there than people think , hehehe

Awesome runs CobaltSS1

Yeah you can run a pretty tall tire. I run a 235-60r15. Tall tire, just slightly taller than the stock ones.
