SS/SC vs SS2.4 NA 1/8th mile

Went to the track last night and the last time i went up ended up getting to run with an S/C. He's a member on here nvmycobaltss. I think he has a catback and my mods are in my sig. ANyways here's the slip.

SS/SC SS2.4
react .48 .22
60ft 2.3539 2.3811
330ft 6.4749 6.5463
594ft 9.1751 9.2772
1/8 et 9.7850 9.8891
1/8 mph 73.78 73.54

But of course we both ran better then that but that was our run. A few of my buddies with chipped F250's were running 9.2's, 9.3's pulling 1.9 60fts, gotta love 4 wheel drive launches .

Looking pretty close there. Seems to support the opinion that a bolt-on and tuned 2.4 is roughly equal to a stock SS/SC

i love the 2.4 engine, plenty of potential there once the aftermarket picks up more for it. i think the ss/sc is a hard car to drive since i was posting better times at the track then an ss/sc the last times i went

Yeah that that 9.8 is a mid 15. I meant the cars best is prolly a high 14 so far. Getting some wheels and tires for the strip so hopefully to get mid low 9's.

Seems that the SS/SC owner is not the best driver!? For example on my best run ever in the 1/4 mile, I ran a 9.382@77.43 at the 1/8 mile mark. Just to give you an idea what a properly driven, stock SS/SC can do!

He lives in Kentucky, I live in Wisconsin. Altitude should not be much of a factor since our elevations are close, unless he is running in eastern Kentucky. I'd bet he is close to Louisville, elevation approximately 600 ft. Milwaukee elevation about 650 ft. Now if it is hot and humid, that's a completely different story!

That's a close race, however that S/C SS is slower than it should be. Almost a 15 sec 1/4 time is horrible. There are many stock S/C SS's that run mid 14's when driven correctly, some in the low 14's stock.

Just had a chance to see this... It was a good run with Brandon and had been a long night of not hooking on the stock tires... trunk full of junk from moving earlier, and taking the slick lane at the local strip. Not bashing Brandon's ride at all, it is impressive for a natural ride, but come on, look at the reaction and the 60'. my fault, fell asleep at the light, dumped too hard on the stock tires, and had to run him down at the end of the track. I look forward to running with him again soon.

My best run on the car so far is in my sig. It is just a matter of hitting the cool air when the motor is not running 200 degrees from waiting in line in the pits.

Altitude is not too far off, how is the humidity there? is the are dry or thick? You can cut it with a chain saw in the summer here.

Your best 1/8 should translate to a mid-14 second run in the 1/4 mile, not bad! I hear you about the engine temp. waiting in line. I also have laid many eggs while at the track. I wasn't calling out your skill, only on that particular run.

We get dew points into the mid-70s, so yes the humidity sucks up here as well!

When I was waiting in lines, i put the windows down and cranked the heat up to take some heat away from the engine and it worked, kept me cool all day. Just something to think about.
