2.2 tranny sounds
when im going thru P, R, N, D etc i get a clicking/clunking sound as i go through them..it was not there before just started randomly..is this the starting point of the tranny going?
its an 2008 with 80,000kms automatic I recently did a tranny flush which did nothing to help this problem..any ideas? thanks |
i have also checked all exhaust pieces to make sure they are tight, mounts were checked at dealership and they said they were fine, but they didnt hear the noise i hear

Get a video? Where does it sound like its coming from?

Is it a clunk or a click? Clunking when putting the transmission into a different gear is from the engine mounts.
Here's a diagram of the mounts so you know what the parts look like that you need to check... 2008 CHEVROLET COBALT Parts - GM Parts Online - GM Parts Direct It's usually the bushing in the mount that wears and splits... Here's a quick test that always told on my car's -- rev your engine and see if your car twists at all, if so, bad mount. |
i have never heard this sound before until now though, maybe i was deaf to it before lol..
here is s a vid, hopefuly it works and you can hear it..didnt realize that the engine moves so much as seen in the vid as well as the gears are being switched |
