Anybody do this???

Has anybody ever put Royal Purple in there manual transmission? i contacted Royal Purple directly and they told me i could put Royal Purple XPR 10W40 oil in to my SS\SC with limited slip. I also put in my clutch in at the same time. i have double and triple checked eveything and im positive i put it together right. it feels like my syncros are going bad but it wasn't like that before i did this. my question is if the fluid i put in the trans could make it feel like this. any comments would be appreciated, THANKS

I bet that fluid is burnt. Only run GM fluid.

It's not even close to the right weight oil if I remember correctly. Who knows if it even has the right lubrication properties...

The weight is wrong, and the friction modifiers are wrong as well. Only use the GM spec fluid.

Maybe, you will only know after you flush that crap out and put some new gm stuff in.

How do you dyno prove gains of transmission fluid?

They will say anything just to sell their product and make money. Researching a site like this can be a lot more helpful.

doesn't mean it's the best oil. Short term gains IMO.

Why would you run motor oil and not their dear oil????

I have Royal Purple gear oil in my DD tranmission and it runs fine.

Motor oil makes no sense what soever.

They're paid to alter dyno settings just to show a gain. It's an advertisement in the end.

This, I stick with mobile one for the engine (i did move to 0w30 but gm approves it) and all others are gm including dexcool.

well i changed the fluid and there was no difference. i think i might try bleeding my clutch again. this time i will have someone assist me. i wonder if i still have some air in there and its not engaging all the way. i kind of somehow managed to do it myself last time but i was in kind of a hurry and i bet there is still air in there. the pedal feels fine though, oh well we will see!

i reamember there being an artical about that claim that using royal purpal give you x% horsepower. it stated that they have to remove that claim and they ended up getting fined becasue it was bull ****. they just threw it on the bottle to make people buy it and had ZERO proof of it.
