Axle ratio
Hello, I have a 2010 LT with automatic transmission. I have a big project at school on "Physic related to cars" and I ave to calculate a lot of things. There's one information I cannot find here (I tried searching). What is the axle ratio on the Cobalt LT with automatic transmission? Thank you

Anyone?

Here, let me Google that for you......

I have the gear ratios, but I need the axle ratio...!!!

Axle ratio is 1:1, now the final drive ratio is different and is on wikipedia.

transmision ratios are as follows
1st- 2.95 2nd- 1.62 3rd- 1.00 4th- 0.68 reverse- 2.14 final drive ratios are 3.05, 3.29, 3.63, 3.91. my info says the cobalt/g5 use the 3.61 final drive ratio. to calculate the axle ratio you multiply the final drive by the gear you are in. your axle ratio in 1st gear is 3.61 x 2.95. if your calculating things out involving gear ratios and rpm differences, dont forget about the lockup torque converter. the converter has slip percentage, when the converter clutch isnt locked (happens in 3rd and 4th gear, but isnt always locked in 3rd and 4th), this is due to the design of a torque conveter. |
Thank you!
