Banging noise while shifting
Hey everyone, I've got a problem with my Red Line. I figured I'd stop in and check to see if any of you all are having the same issues since it's basically the same car. Anyways, whenever I shift between gears, I get a banging noise from the front of the car. It's almost sounding as if a mount is bad somewhere. I've only got 4,000 miles, it should not have a bad mount this early. Is it common for the mounts to just flat out suck on these cars? If so, which mounts are the weak points on these cars?

Thanks for the link, I noticed that. Did you notice the baning noise between shifts too?
I'll have to check that mount out, if I can find it. I found the front transmission mount, but is this the one that is behind the drivers side wheel well?

Yeah, if you take the driver's side wheel off and look striaght at the strut it is kind of to the left of it and then up at the top. You will have to stick your head in the wheel well but it can be easily seen. Also check the rear on that is near the exhaust mnifold. Whil the car is in the air creep farther under it and look on the driver's side near the exhaut manifold on the transmission. You will see a big round piece of black rubber and a bunch of metal attached to it. Inspect all of that too.
