Cobalt Shift Linkage

Ok, so I was driving today and I went to shift from 4th into 5th and it have way. Stuck in 4th gear now. I looked at my cables and my right cable snapped the retaining clip. It also came off the shifter. I can not figure out how to get the ball of the shifter back into the clip. Once I do that I plan on zip tying the lock down since the clip is broken now. Not paying $85 just for a clip. Anyone know how to get the know back in it?

Although that part looks quite a bit different than the stock piece, it does look like it would work and it's cheaper, if nothing else it's an option! Very much appreciated

Yup if that's the part that you broke off then that will work and that one won't brake for sure
