Custom Axles, boots and spindle nuts.

Alright, so I was doing some research to see if I could find anyone out there that makes aftermarket, stronger axles etc...

Well, these are some that I found.

I was just wondering to see what they had out there and if anyone had the ability to make some aftermarket robust axles etc. What do you guys think? The tranny would be the only thing left that would be considered the weakest link if kits, tunes etc are added to your car.

This is great, so I'm guessing that the even if it says "For the 2.0L SC" the TC and the SC share the same axles, correct?

ok

according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Cobalt_SS , seems like the SC from 05-07 used the F23 and it was made by GM in two different versions. Now, TTR does have a conversion for a 6 speed. So the axles are good, now its weather I could get a better transmission.

the ss/sc came with the saab built f35. its the same tranny used in the ss/tc, the only difference is the final drive ratio (4.05 for sc, 3.82 for tc). the f23 was behind the 2.2 and 2.4l.

the 6 speed kit has been discussed here and in general, its not really worth it. you add another gear, but all it really does is make the tranny a close ratio, you dont have a steeper overdrive so it doesnt help fuel economy. havent heard the holding capacity yet, no clue on how much stronger it really is.

whoever TTR gets the 6sp conversion from said its about 35% stronger. and yes, the STG II axles will fit on a SS TC....its the same tranny as the SS SC after all.
