Talking KY Clutch - Official Release!

KY Clutch and Turbo Tech Racing teamed up to bring the best clutch kits to the market!

KY is gathering photos now, we will upload each one, to each product as we receive.

Full Face Disc Topic:
KY will not currently be offering a full face disc option for the Stage 2, 3, and 4. Reason being is as stated in the "interest thread" the pressure per SQ IN, on a full face disc is so much less than a puck design. A full face disc option on a high torque application will not hold properly. As to why there is not one on the market today.

Please also reference this post (Start at #53):

Product Links, with Prices and Descriptions:

If you would order, please post in this thread in which you did order.

This is part of the full disc design with pucks. I may try t get a steam boat rolling on this but the issue is material costs. So we are gonna try

Vadhyx, no one makes a full face design that'll hold the Tq. Which is why pucked style is preffered, we are gonna try our best though.

This is true, KY stated it would take 4-6 months though.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Ok here is a pic of a full faced disc that another vendor sales. main reason it went out is due to glazing because it is not meant for a high Tq load ... Once I was able to take it to ky clutch we tested it out and the material was cracking, and the rivets were coming loose. Notice the one on the cement, it is the other brand and not ky clutch. The ky clutch is the pucked style.

Most failed clutches are due to improper installs but also improper clutch ..

Glazing is due from improper break in, install, or driving, unless the clutch was rated for well below the tq the owners car is making. . And u can unglazed a clutch easily, just takes some time.

Dat u are correct, which is why full faced clutches are hard to hold Tq. Now the above given example is the closest thing you will get to a full faced clutch . But that clutch setup won't hold more then 300ish ft lbs

As stated there is not one full face disc that will hold to Tq that the Lnfs put out. The clutch posted in pic above is a southbend stage three I beleive.

Most likely stage 2 or 3.

3 will have ceramic on both sides, where as 2 will have kevlar on one side of the disc and ceramic on the other side.

Stage 3 will have a higher load pressure plate also.

What does a Vette use? Just curious, because they can slip easily and hold a lot of Torque. All I care about is being able to slip it like ZZPs is claimed to do.

It all depends on year and how large the friction disc is.. what the issue is with the balts is surface area .... we have a small surface area which is why its hard to get a full face disc to hold the power.

It has In OR Out engagement... It will hold whatever you throw at it though.

It can be on the street, but it will not be the most friendly at stop lights.

If you are under 475 torque, get the stage 3 and be happy
