Well I got it installed today. and I must say, I was not impressed at all. I really didnt even feel a difference. Looks cool though.

Anyone else feel this way?

Ive had mine in for 8 months or so and ive never had a problem. I didnt really notice a huge difference but no problems. Not to thread jack but, would it be possible to cut the shaft a bit?

Well i am only saying this casue this happen to my buddies car. After he put in the Hurst shifter and took it to the track or what not he lost reverse and 2nd gear. The syncros are gone. We think that is why he never had a problem until he put that shifter in. But did you noticed something odd when you installed your shifter?

The stock shifters shaft is a backwards L shaped.

The hurst shifter shaft is l shaped.

I aint 100 percent sure if it realy makes a difference but to me i think so.

had mine for a year.. Throws are shorter even tho the stick is the same height.. And had zero problems since it was properly installed

Yeah i had one too with no problems but the shifter feels really odd. The stock shifter is way better. And with the stock shifter you can shift faster.

your the only person ive ever seen say that.
and ive never heard of any horror stories with it, other than people who install it incorrectly.
i havent missed 3rd gear in a year and a half since i got it, and its certainly faster to me.

gonna have to strongly disagree.

the thing you are noticing odd, is the entire mechanics of a true short shifter.
these ebay wannabe shifters, or people who get happy with a hacksaw are not making a short THROW shifter, they are making a short SHAFT shifter.
big difference.

Yes I did notice something odd, just like you said^ the shape of the shaft itself.
I seriously sat in my looking at it like "How in the hell is this going to make my shifts shorter? o well i paid 170$ for it."

Well yeah i know that. I was not looking for the shaft to be shorter, but the acual throw. It will probably grow on me.

agreed 100% all in the install. The stock shifter was very vague and clunky. This is super smooth, falls right into gear, I could flick it with my finger to change gears.

i noticed a HUGE differance when i installed mine, shifts were not much shorter, but shifting felt 20X more solid, and mine shifts much easier. had it on for 2 years now with 0 problems. i've gotta go with an0malous and strongly disagree, imo this is one of the best mods i've done to my car!

when installed correctly, it makes a big difference, i noticed it immediatly. works great, may have to have someone more experinced adjust for 5th gear, but other than that, perfect, even reverse lockout. much more solid, and much smoother than stock

The only complaint I have about mine is it very hot to touch when the car is closed up.So it will probably get very cold this winter also.I bought a pair of blue baby socks and keep one in the car to put on the shifter for a few miles until it cools down.

I went with the hurst I haven't got it in the car yet, but I would have taken anything when you break your stock shifter in half. but from looking at it, it looks like it would shift pretty good.

super easy install, look at twm's shifter GB, and download their manual, makes it super easy.
