Poly Trans Mount Idea.
This applies to the LS/LT cobalts. The Intense inserts do not fit in the stock 2.2 mounts. However the Cavaliers appear to use almost identical mounts to the Cobalt. This is mainly because the 95-99 Cav's used a Isuzu Transmission and the 00-05 Used the Getrag F23, the exact same as the Cobalts.
This brings me to my point, It is possible that the Cavalier Inserts will work for the 2.2 guys. If you look at this page with the inserts on TTR the front mount looks very similar to the Cobalts, in fact the Cobalt front mount says "CAV.2" on it. http://www.turbotechracing.com/produ...idcategory=709 Thoughts? |
If someone will measure the width of the casting and the diameter of the hole. We will know if GM used the same size, if not we WILL make these if we see an interest.

i can almost promis these will be the same

Prothane have holes in them, and they still have A LOT of play. Ours, Turbo Tech Racing, are 100% solid, and available in red, black, and blue. If someone can get the dimensions mentoned above we can verfy the fitment. |

the parts in red are the mesurments needed? |
If it isn't here by the time I get home tonight I'll measure my stock mount and post back here.
|
Actually we need 4 measurements to start:
1. the large red circle, the outside of the bushing diameter 2. the inside diameter of the bushing where the sleeve pushes into 3. the inside diameter of the bushing 4. the width of the casting that the bushing goes into |
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...t=39884&page=2 Post #22 has the approx diameter as measured by me with a tape measure a while back.
|
|
Dim 1 on the cavalier bushings is about 3.5" in diameter...

1. Bushing OD: 4"
2. ID of Mount: ~3.75" 3. ID of Bushing: ~3.75" 4. Width of Casting: 2" |
Those measurements all came from the bushing. I had an extra bushing that I measured.

OK I figured out what you meant...the ID of the bushing is ~.75"
|
The outside of the bushing (OD)
The inside hole diameter of the aluminum sleeve (ID) The width of the rubber bushing The length of the aluminum sleeve. What trans is that from 2.0 or 2.2L |
You have a side view of the bushing?

2.2L Getrag F23

DIM1: 4" DIM2: .75" DIM3: Min 3.75" Max 4" DIM4: 2.75" |
