I owned a 2007 g6 GTP 3.6. it is the fastest motor in the G6, but it is also HUGE and I know for a fact it will not fit without large amounts of modification.

You can make anything you want fit anywhere you want. theres a rear wheel drive Cobalt on this site, and there are Northstar powered Jbodies.

But basically if youre talking about a boltin operation the 3.5 wont fit in a Cobalt.

G6 isnt like a Cobalt, its the same chassis as a Malibu

well there is one in the works northstar powered cavalier.

the g6 has a base 2.4l ecotec, a mid level 3.5l, the top motor is a 3.9l ohv vvt motor or the 3.6l dohc. as stated, no the v6 wont bolt into a cobalt.

in the past, engine swaps were do-able. j-bodies were common for all sorts of engine swaps. the 2nd gens a 3400 would pretty much bolt in and make one hell of a fun car. 3rd gens could swap lots in, there were a few 3x00 motor, a few 3.8l s/c powered, even one with a 3.4l twin dual cam. however i think the days of major engine swaps like that in a newer street driven car is over. with the complex computer systems and emmissions control, its jut not feasable.

The g6 3.5 only makes 219hp and 219tq. That is this model year. I know the older 2004 3.5 only made like 200hp so you are better off with a lsj engine anyway if you have a lt. If that is the route you are going.

That's really odd as there aren't any G5 Sedans made for the US. The only thing I have ever seen are the G5 coupes.
